Jill holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology and a Master’s in Public Administration, both from the University of Wyoming. Jill owned and operated a small retail business for seven years realizing the hard work and challenges small business owners face daily. Jill has worked as the outreach coordinator with the Small Business Innovation Research program, as a SBDC regional director serving NE Wyoming, as the SBDC associated state director and now as the SBDC state director. Aliza Sherman will share her own stories about money. She'll also outline how she is working to overcome money obstacles in manageable steps to make a positive impact on her financial wellbeing.

Aliza Sherman is a Web Pioneer, an international keynote speaker, author of nine books, and a digital strategist since 1992. She speaks and writes about the Internet, digital media, social mobile marketing, online communities and the future of tech. Aliza is well known for her expertise on the topic of women’s technology and business issues. She founded the first woman-owned, full-service Internet company - Cybergrrl, Inc. - in 1995, and the first global Internet networking group for women – Webgrrls International.

Newsweek named her one of the "Top 50 People Who Matter Most on the Internet” that same year. Fast Company named her one of the "Most Powerful Women in Technology" in 2009 for her blogging. Her latest books are The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Crowdsourcing and Mom, Incorporated.

Rod Bristol was part of the development team that created the Profit Mastery University financial education curriculum. He is responsible for client development and the national expansion of the Profit Mastery University program and for Facilitator Certification training. He has taught over 200 Certified Facilitators in 30. Prior to joining the Profit Mastery team, Rod owned Sudden Printing, the largest independent quick printing company in the state of Washington. At the peak of Sudden Printing’s expansion the company employed a staff of over 60, had sales of $5 million and served the greater Puget Sound area with offset printing and digital imaging services. Rod was very active in the National Association of Quick Printers for over

20 years and was awarded the Honorary Lifetime Member award in 2007.

Mike Lilygren is Co-Owner of Bridge Outdoors, Lander, WY. He began his outdoor experience as an expedition rock-climber, climbing all over the globe. He then added seven years of outdoor industry retail experience and eight years of managing new product development teams. His efforts in ideation, project management, contract negotiation and category leadership have helped build strong brand and sales growth as well as leading to award winning products such as Brunton's Epoch line of binoculars -

multiple "Gear of the Year" awards from Outside, and their Nova Stove – "Editor's Choice" from Backpacker Magazine and "Best of What's New" from Popular Science.

Karen Hostetler is the chief executive officer and co-owner of Mountain Meadow Wool Co. Inc. She has been involved in the wool industry as a spinner, weaver, craftsman, and marketer of wool products since 1980. She has managed a variety of small businesses and for the past 23 years. She has worked as an educator and has motivated people to make positive changes in their personal lives and improve their decision-making skills. She and Valerie Spanos opened Mountain Meadow Wool Mills in Buffalo in 2007. They use Wyoming wool to create yarn for the handcrafting industry.

Rosemary Bratton is the Executive Director of the Wyoming Women’s Business Center. She has lived in Wyoming since 1977 and calls this magnificent place “home.” While working in the domestic violence prevention field for many years, Rosemary became acutely aware of the economic impact experienced by many survivors. The WWBC, with an emphasis on small business development, was created as an alternative to low paying jobs available to Wyoming’s most marginalized people, women, people of color,

people with low incomes and people with disabilities.

Jeff Carpenter will discuss information investors look for related to your customer, product and technology, market, competition, and intellectual property. He will point out common mistakes that turn into red flags for investors, and provide guidance on how to obtain and present the information you need to make a strong impression.

Jeff’ Carpenter manages due diligence, tech scouting, and strategic partnering services for Development Capital Networks. His 17 years of technology commercialization experience includes director of product development for a clean tech start-up; nearly 10 years in the University of Minnesota technology transfer office; senior tech scout for Coloplast (a Danish medical device company); and commercialization planning, due diligence, and strategic partnering support for entrepreneurs, investors, and technology acquirers. His expertise includes market and competitor analysis, strategic patenting, partner identification and vetting, patent valuation, and license negotiation. Jeff holds a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of Minnesota; and Bachelors and Masters degrees in Forestry, from the University of Montana.

I believed ‘the money was secondary to important work’ and ’they will pay me what I’m worth.’ I had to look myself in the mirror. I was limiting my own earning potential. Frances VanHouten has a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a Master's degree in organizational development; has held leadership roles in industrial product development and business-to-business marketing; and has worked with groups throughout the US and Europe. Inspired to work for herself, VanHouten became a freelance marketer until she found her calling in the social sciences. She established RainMaker Coaching in 2000 and has been busy ever since. Described as a "sparkplug," her work is characterized by a direct and energetic style that keeps people on their toes. She is a Certified Professional Facilitator by the International Association of Facilitators, and a Certified Practitioner of the MBTI Step I and Step II Instruments, by the Center for Applications of Psychological Type.

Michael Shuman is director of research for Cutting Edge Capital, director of research and economic development at the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE), and a Fellow of the Post Carbon Institute. He holds an AB with distinction in economics and international relations from Stanford University and a JD from Stanford Law School. He has led community-based economic-development efforts across the country and has authored or edited seven books, including The Small Mart Revolution: How Local Businesses Are Beating the Global Competition (2006), Going Local: Creating Self-Reliant Communities in the Global Age (1998) and Local Dollars, Local Sense: How to Shift Your Money from Wall

Street to Main Street and Achieve Real Prosperity. In recent years, Michael has led community-based economic-development efforts in St. Lawrence County (NY), Hudson Valley (NY), Katahdin Region (ME), Martha's Vineyard (MA), and Carbondale (CO), and served as a senior editor for the recently published Encyclopedia of Community.
