Spring pulls out shoots from the cold, sterile months.

The disappearance of water, bringer of fertility,

joins summer and winter.Rituals of vegetation and symbols of

reproductive energy combine, foreshadowing the origin and preservation of life.

Bare earth, shriveled tubers, dry shrubs evoke death

(but only temporary) ahead of a violent resurrection.

The barren terrain holds kernels of life awaiting regeneration.

Rough clods, like blankets, cover the sleeping seeds.Synthetic sheets envelop

alive corpses on hold.A cloak of snow, bringing oblivion,

covers and warms the roots like bread before proving.

Chunky, rough, corrugated materials.Surfaces similar to cork, wrinkled bark.

Non-woven fabrics.At times, knits resemble

dry branches, tangled nests, frayed roots.

Others look like the spirit of caducous, inconsistent, almost transparent leaves.

Textures have fi nishes as wrinkled as dust, as intangible as ash.

The dull green of the mountains, the wet brown of a river bank,

the dead land, the dull roots all make for waste atmospheres,

foreboding rebirth.

La primavera estirpa germogli dai mesi sterili e freddi.La scomparsa dell’acqua, portatrice di fertilità, accomuna l’estate all’inverno.Riti della vegetazione e simboli di energia riproduttiva si mescolano, preludendo all’origine e alla conservazione della vita.La terra vuota, i tuberi secchi, gli arbusti inariditi evocano la morte (ma solo temporanea) in attesa di una violenta resurrezione.Il terreno infecondo conserva bozzoli di vita, aspettando la rigenerazione.Zolle grezze sovrastano, come coperte, i semi dormienti.Teli sintetici avvolgono salme di vita in pausa.Un manto di neve che dà oblio ricopre e riscalda le radici come pane prima della lievitazione.Materie massicce, ruvide, corrugate.Superfi ci simili a sugheri, cortecce accartocciate. Tessuto non tessuto.Le maglie assumono, a volte, i movimenti di rami secchi, nidi aggrovigliati, radici sfi lacciate.Altre, lo spirito di foglie caduche, inconsistenti, quasi trasparenti.Le texture hanno fi niture crespe come polvere, intangibili come cenere.Il verde spento delle montagne, il marrone umido della riva di un fi ume, la terra morta, le sopite radici, disegnano atmosfere desolate, presagio di rinascita.
