We start our adventure with an exciting Airboat Ride at Everglades Safari Park. The Park was re-cently acquired by the National Park Service and is now part of the Everglades National Park sys-tem operated by knowledgeable park rangers. Lunch following our ride will be right there in the Everglades. Next we’re off for our two-hour TramTour through the Shark Valley section of the Everglades. Park naturalists escort and narrate all tours, and besides giving insight into the ecosys-tem as a whole, our naturalist will point out “hid-den” aspects of the Everglades that help make this a world-renowned wetlands. The open vehi-cles used on the tram tours allow wildlife viewing within the sawgrass prairies on either side of the tram. At the halfway point of our tour, a 45-foot high observation deck provides the opportunity to enjoy the tranquil vistas of the Everglades, which extend outward 20 miles in all directions. Be sure to bring your cameras. A gradually sloped ramp provides easy access to the observation tower deck. Comfortable walking shoes and sun-screen are recommended.
