The initial assignments were sent out this past week. If you didn’t receive one, don’t worry. There are 4 separate groups and only one group will receive assignments each week. Your assignments will come soon. Thanks again for signing up! Carla and I will be in Bruceton, TN, next Sunday as I speak for their Friend and Family Day. Bruceton is the church where my dad preached from when I was 2 until I was 8. I’ve been back several times to speak there and I look forward to next Sunday. Bits and Pieces

Spring is here and so are the busy schedules. Many of our members are very

busy with end of school activities, upcoming trips, sports and other things. We

are glad that you are here with us for worship today! Here are a few items of

interest.

Visitation program underway. We have around 180 people who have signed

up for this program so far. Sign-up cards and a collection box are located at

the sign up table in the foyer. The initial assignments were sent out this past

week. If you didn’t receive one, don’t worry. There are 4 separate groups and

only one group will receive assignments each week. Your assignments will

come soon. Thanks again for signing up!

Carla and I will be in Bruceton, TN, next Sunday as I speak for their Friend

and Family Day. Bruceton is the church where my dad preached from when I

was 2 until I was 8. I’ve been back several times to speak there and I look

forward to next Sunday. They are a very small congregation now and they lost

their minister to an unexpected death a couple of months ago. Please add this

church to your prayer list as they search for their next minister.

Barry Binion will begin his new work as the pulpit minister at the Savannah

church of Christ next Sunday. Although the Binions will be returning next

Sunday night for senior night here, tonight will be their last official Sunday

worship with us as our youth and associate minister. Please join us for his

“Going Away Get-Together” after services tonight. We wish them the best in

their new work in Savannah!

Please also continue to pray for our search committee and elders as the process

of selecting a new youth minister goes forward.

GOD’S IN CONTROL

Don’t ever get dishearted

…no matter what life brings,

Our God alone is in control

…and watching over things.

He has a look-out on your life

…from sunset till sunrise,

And nothing ever happens

…that will take Him my surprise.

He knows each teardrop you will shed

…He knows just how to dry it.

He only wants what’s best for you

…have faith, and don’t deny it.

Our God controls the Universe

…each second of its span,

And He controls the destiny

…of each child in His plan.

Our God will not abandon you

…His love has no loophole,

His eye is always watching you

…He’s in complete control.

To make a success of old age, you’ve got to start

young.

If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side.

It is better to know some of the questions than all

the answers.

It is easier to build boys than it is to mend men.
