Yep, seems like every year FWP gets the walleye spawning efforts underway they get a good day or two of going followed by grueling windy weather conditions.

Spring and baseball season is here and games will soon begin. A spring clean-up will be held this Saturday and Sunday, April 26 & 27, at the American Legion baseball field. Every player and parent is needed to help at least one of the two days. Work will begin at noon and continue until 5, or later if necessary. Bring your gloves, rakes, shovels, and lots of energy. Help from community members is also welcome and would be greatly appreciated. See you at the ballpark!

Cuisine for the Cure date set for May 7th Northeast Montana Relay for Life’s 3rd Annual Cuisine for the Cure has moved the date from April 24th to Wednesday, May 7th due to some scheduling difficulties. It will still be at the Glasgow Elks Club with serving from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. “We are close to having a full slate of cooks for this annual event,” says Rod Karst. Some of the menu items feature foods from: Russia, Germany, Italy, England, Norway, Mexico, Hawaii and more. Tickets — $20 each — are on sale now at the Elks Club, KLTZ/KLAN Studios and at the BS Buzz. As in the past, only 150 tickets will be sold, so be sure to grab them while you can for a wonderful dining experience.

It is that time of year again. We need all the helping hands we can get this Saturday at the Valley County Pioneer Museum. We will be starting at 8:30 A.M. and normally it only takes a couple of hours if we have lots of helping hands come. We also invite you to take time to visit and have some cookies with us. We have special cookies this year made by the Senior Citizens Center. Just like your Mom or Grandma used to make. We are very certain you will enjoy them and the companionship of those who will be there to help also. ~ Friends of the Pioneer Museum

When parents are absent or unable to raise their children, grandparents are often the ones who step in. Raising a second generation brings many rewards, including the fulfillment of giving your grandkids a sense of security, developing a deeper relationship, and keeping the family together. It also comes with many challenges. No matter how much you love your grandkids, taking them into your home requires major adjustments. But with the right guidelines and support, you can roll back the years and make a real difference in the lives of your grandchildren. The prospect of raising grandchildren is bound to trigger

a range of emotions. Positive emotions, like the love you feel for your grandchildren, the joy in seeing them learn and grow, and relief at giving them a stable environment, are easy to acknowledge. It’s more difficult to admit to feelings such as resentment, guilt, or fear. It’s important to acknowledge and accept what you’re feeling, both good and bad. Don’t beat yourself up over your doubts and misgivings. It’s only natural to feel some ambivalence about childrearing at a time when you expected your responsibilities to be dwindling. These feelings don’t mean that you don’t love your grandchildren. Valley County Extension will

be offering an educational support group for local grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. The first meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13th in the Community Room of the Valley County Courthouse. Future meetings will be scheduled to fit participants’ schedules. Topics covered during these sessions include: Feelings about Changing roles, Child Development, Adult/Child Relationships, Discipline, Legal Concerns, Grandparent’s/Grandchildren’s Rights and Living with Teens. For more information or to register for these sessions, please contact the Valley County Extension Office at 228-6241.

Travels have gone well this month, and I am thankful for your prayers through this time. Many of you have casually or more seriously asked me in recent months about what my plans are for the rest of the year. In the midst of praying about and considering what God’s plans for me are after this initial two year commitment, I came across a quote by CS Lewis that has encouraged me to rest, refocus, and trust God.

“Never, in peace or war, commit your virtue or your happiness to the future. Happy work is best done by the

Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy is in a fight with the federal government over grazing land his family has been using since the late 1800s. The BLM contends Cliven Bundy owes more than $1.2 million in grazing fees, but Bundy contends that the federal government’s rules are increasingly rigged against Westerners who have long made their living off the public lands. Former Republican Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado said: “The Bundys have grazed cattle on that same land for 136 years, but nowadays, the desert tortoise has more rights than Bundy’s cattle. Bundy is the only local rancher who has not yet been driven out of business by federal land management policies. “The issue here is bigger than the fate of rancher Cliven Bundy’s cattle. The federal government continues to assert ownership not only of the land Bundy has been grazing his cattle on since 1877, but of 84.5 percent of all Nevada land. The federal government also owns 69 percent of Alaska, 57 percent of Utah, 53 percent of Oregon, 48 percent of Arizona, and 36 percent of Colorado. Indeed, the BLM alone owns 245,000,000 acres of land, an area half the size of Mexico and larger than 48 of our 50 states.” Columnist Barbara Simpson wrote: “It wasn’t an innocent confrontation but a heavy-handed, one-sided overkill. … In a scene out of a tyrannical government playbook – hey gang, that’s U.S. – the government moved in with armored personnel vehicles and helicopters. Armed men equipped with the latest in weaponry and body armor surrounded the ranch house and outbuildings while comparably armed snipers took their places, at the ready, as they lined up their targets, just in case. The targets? Unarmed American citizens on their own land.” Last week Senator Harry Reid accused those who support Cliven Bundy of being domestic terrorists. “What Senator Reid may call domestic terrorists, I call patriots,” Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) Former Justice Department prosecutor Larry Klayman says that the Bundy conflict indicates a “New American Revolution” is under way. “If the events in Nevada over the last week or so are any indication, where brave patriots, exercising their Second Amendment rights, stood down the tyranny of Obama’s Bureau of Land Management on behalf of the Bundy family and their cattle ranch, then indeed full-scale revolution is now in full swing in both the courts and through armed men on horseback,” he said. “Here, militias from throughout the nation converged, along with other brave citizens, to show the government that we simply will not take their ‘horse manure’ anymore.”

Is the next American Revolution underway?
