Partner Agency Spotlight-Gobles-Kendall Ministerial Association RSVP and Senior Services of Van Buren County is pleased to partner with the Gobles/Kendall Area Ministerial Association.( GKAMA) The GKAMA is comprised of several churches in the Gobles/Kendall area, but most of their activities occur at the Gobles United Methodist Church. They operate the Gobles Food Pantry, monthly commodities distribution for seniors, and quarterly special food distributions for clients of all ages. They also assist people with Medicare and Medicaid. We are excited to work together with their volunteers as they serve so many people in their area. If you would like more infor-mation on this wonderful organization or how to volunteer, If you would like more information on this wonderful agency, please contact Michelle at 269-855-8000. Volunteer Driving Reaps Rewards Ann Barkman has been a faithful driver in our Ride Easy medical ride program for several years now. Recently she shared the following with us regarding her volunteer experience: “I love the one on one connecting experience. I can also tell that the cli-ents love the human connection. They are often apprehensive headed to their appointments and I enjoy knowing that my conversations with them help put them at ease. Also, I’ve been able to meet some amazing people that I would never have had the opportunity meet. They have enriched my life!” ~Ann RSVP of Van Buren County provides 50 medical rides each month free of charge and for many people we are their only option for a ride to their ap-pointments. Drivers are reimbursed for their mileage and receive supple-mental insurance. Also, as you can see from Ann’s story, their lives are enriched by serving the seniors in this way. For more information on vol-unteering for this vital program, please contact Toni or Sherry at 269-655-8000. The ride easy program has been temporarily suspended due to the coronavirus.
