From The East

To all the Brothers of Oviedo Lodge and your respective families, This is an unprecedented time we are all currently in with many unexpected and unforeseen challenges. It is also a time where we can reconnect with the Grand Architect of the Universe as well as with our families. We will get through this but it will take a lot of focused energy and prayer to do so. With Freemasonry being currently on hold, let me convey where we currently are as a lodge. A few of our Brothers are continuing their catechism education, so that when we are able to return to our normal masonic routine, we will be able to go forward with proficiency examinations for several EAs and FCs. We will also reconvene our MM Degree practice as well as reschedule the MM Degree. As soon as I learn what our new directives from Grand Lodge will be in regards to masonic activities, I will immediately pass those along to the craft. Keep monitoring any communications via television and/or radio and continue to follow the current protocol in place set for us all by our local, state, and federal governments. In the meantime, please take care of yourselves and your families. This is where our focused attention needs to be during these most challenging times. I send my deepest condolences to those who may have lost any loved ones both near and far and send my best wishes to all who have been affected. May the Grand Architect of the Universe watch over us all and protect us from any harm. We will rise stronger and wiser when this subsides. Any questions, please reach out to me by way of email or by phone. Fraternally, Thomas J. Hildebrandt Worshipful Master Oviedo Masonic Lodge No. 243

From The West Greetings from The West, Well brothers it has been an interesting, to say the least, past 30 days for sure! As our lodge is dark per the Grand Lodge Directive, we have suspended all training and catechism returns until we are given the green light From Grand Lodge. I encourage all brothers who are currently planning on giving returns to continue their studies and if you need any help please don’t hesitate to call any of your Master Mason brothers! Our education topic for May is TBD, again based upon Grand Lodge’s approval to resume masonic activities. If there is a particular education topic you would like to see, please let me know. Please take care of yourselves and practice safety always! This too in time will end! Go in peace my brothers, come out and see your lodge sometime and don’t forget to keep watering the bamboo! Fraternally Yours, Wayne Grigsby Senior Warden

From The South

Greetings from the South!

March has come and gone, and I look forward to warmer weather so we can attend to what needs attention at the

lodge. Out of an abundance of caution, it was the order of

the Grand Lodge that we remain Dark until May and the

corona virus crisis has passed.

We currently do not have any projects that cannot wait

until after the crisis has passed. With help from W:.M:. Tomm Hildebrandt, W:. Greg Seavers, Brother James D

Nelson, we managed to organize the Ante Room before we

went dark. I thank you very much for helping me.

Even though we are dark, we are still obligated to our

charity for the month of April. The planned charity for

April is Camp Boggy Creek. It is my understanding that

our Secretary and Treasurer will make sure this is taken care of during our dark period.

Currently we do not have any planned dinners at this point. Once we return to some semblance of normalcy, I

will be setting up a special night to show our support at

Cafe Panuzzo’s.

If any Brother should find themselves in need during this

time, please do not hesitate to reach out to me so that we

may assist you in any way we can.

Please check up on our mascot Sprig. He is growing and

we will more than likely need to find a spot to prepare and

plant him on the property in the next couple of months.

May the blessing of God be upon all Brothers and your

families and I look forward to serving you this year.

Fraternally,

Wesley Marek Dolinski

Junior Warden

Secretary’s Corner

My Brothers: We've had a fairly good response so far on payment of 2020 Dues, but many Brothers are still delinquent. Please remember that we all agreed when petitioning for membership to promptly pay our lodge dues. Doing so helps to keep your lodge financially sound and keeps your lodge Secretary mentally sound. You can now pay your Dues via Credit Card on our website (www.oviedolodge.org). If you have any trouble with this, I can also help do this for you - just give me a call at (407) 619-1241, or drop by the Lodge on a Stated Communication night. If you are a Perpetual Member, please consider a timely return with your contribution to the Masonic Home Endowment Fund, and/or possibly one of the other listed voluntary contributions. Also please notify me of any change of address, phone numbers, and your affiliation with any appendant Masonic organization, so we can keep your records up-to-date. Fraternally, W:. Steve Kimball Secretary, PM [email protected]

Masonic Stories/Information

A Nice Masonic Story

A salesman breaks down in a remote country lane, a farmer in the adjacent field comes

over and they discover that they are "Brothers". The salesman is concerned as he has an

important appointment in the local town: "Don't worry says the farmer you can use my

car, I will call a friend and get the car repaired while you go to the appointment" Off goes

the salesman and a couple of hours later he returns but unfortunately the car is awaiting a

part which won’t arrive until the next morning. "It's not a problem," says the Farmer, "use

my telephone and re-schedule your first appointment tomorrow, stay with us tonight and

I'll see that the car is done first thing!" The farmers' wife prepares a wonderful meal and

they share a glass of fine single malt during an excellent evening, the salesman sleeps

soundly and when he awakes there is his car, repaired and ready to go. After a full English

breakfast the salesman thanks them both for the hospitality. As he and the farmer walk to

his car he turns and asks "my brother, thank you so much but I have to ask, did you help

me because I am a Mason?" "No" was the reply, "I helped you because I am a Mason"

Travel well my Brothers.
