DTE Fermi 2 and Workforce Vendors Back Chamber FoundationDTE Energy and five of its workforce vendors havepartnered to contribute $4,550 to the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce Foundation. DTEFermi 2 nuclear power plant; AECOM Michigan LLC; BHI Energy; CFM VR-TESCO, LLC; GE Inter-national and Mid-American Group each purchasedcoupon books for workers who came to the comm-unity to work on the recent 18th refueling outage at the power plant. The employers distributed the books to the workforce, providing an incentive to patronize local businesses and support the “Make the Right Choice - Buy Local Campaign.” Molly Luempert-Coy, DTE’s manager of regional relations, spearheaded fundraising for the coupon book. The funds will be used to provide LEADERSHIP MONROE training and expand its scholarship opportunities. Since 2007, the fundraiser has generated a total of $34,550 for scholarships for LEADERSHIP MONROE during the past six outages. The coupon books were created by The Monroe News and were the result of a part-nership between DTE Energy, The Monroe News and The Chamber.
