City Day

L e a d e r s h i p D i c k i n s o n

We started out talking to Mayor Dennis Johnson, talking about city issues and projects that are going on in Stark county. We asked questions from our 321 that we fill out every time we meet. The 321s are a group of questions that have 3 things we learn from an article, 2 things we found interesting from an article and 1 question that we still have. The Mayor answered our questions about zoning and annexation of land in the Dickinson area.

After that, we headed out to the Dickinson Airport where we talked to the airport manager about the work that is put into maintaining the airport, saw the snow and fire rescue units, and saw a plane land and taxi right around us as we drove on the runway.

After the airport, we went to the Armstrongs for a 4-course meal and had lessons on table etiquette. After lunch, we went to The Dickinson Press, where we saw how the paper was produced and how it worked. The tour was neat as we got to see all the hard work that goes into making our paper. The group then headed out to the animal shelter and talked with the ladies out there, saw some rescued animals and saw the living environment they are in now.

FARGO, N.D., Mar. 23, 2015 — Border States Electric was recognized as the Indus-try Supplier of the Year during the 3rd Annual Rocky Mountain Oil & Gas Awards ceremony held in Denver March 10, 2015. This is the first time an electrical distributor has won the award, which is judged by experts in the oil and gas industry.

The Industry Supplier of the Year Award recognizes suppliers of materials and equipment to the oil and gas industry. Companies who have demonstrated reliability, gone the extra mile to provide the oil and gas sector with impressive customer service and can show details of their corporate social responsibility initi-atives are rewarded. Border States Electric scored highest in the category with such remarks from the judges as:

“Border States is an employee-owned company that provides total customer satisfaction with its products and solutions. Job trailers are supplied to provide immediate supplies for emergen-cies.”

“An industry supplier in every sense. Good community investment and great to see this compa-ny evaluating the performance of their manufacturing partners to ensure good supply, product and service delivery.”

“We have been supplying and supporting the oil and gas industry for decades—now with 80 locations in 16 states including the Bakken, Niobrara and Permian regions,” said Blake Sexton, Vice President Business De-velopment. “As a 100% employee-owned company, we know this makes a difference to

our customers, and this award is a testament to employee-ownership. We care about our customers, and it shows in the level of service we deliver each day. We want to thank our customers, the outstanding employee-owners of Border States and the Oil and Gas Awards for recognizing what we call ser-vice excellence.” (Watch Blake's acceptance of the award.) “This award is proof of our ability to provide numerous value-added services that drive efficiencies for our oil and gas customers. Our focus is on driving excessive costs out of the supply chain by providing high quality products at competitive prices that reduce risk in supply and applications. We believe we are in it together with our customers—we are only as successful as they are,” said Shawn Burgad, Northwest Region Business Development Manager–Oil & Gas.
