God’s heart for the heart of Africa— 7.2 million children and youth to receive the Gospel!

Children in the heart of Africa are receiving God’s Word!

Children, youth & whole villages find new hope! Our church partners in the most difficult regions of africa are breaking new ground for the Gospel — using the OneHope Scripture engagement programs you provide!

local teams have discovered that programs such as God’s Big Story, The GodMan film, and pathway to Hope (in partnership with Kids’ Evangelism Explosion) are tremendously effective in reaching the next generation — and planting new churches!

in one traditionally islamic nation, a pastor reports:“The government sent healthcare and educational workers into the most backward and impoverished areas — and a Christian nurse and his wife, a teacher, were going to a village where there was no chance at all we could ever plant a church. it was strongly Muslim, and we had even heard of a radical jihadist group operating there.”

But the couple knew they would be interacting with children and agreed to take the God’s Big Story program, if the pastor would come with them and help them launch it.

“it was amazing — this is a 100% islamic village, and yet there was no resistance at all to our setting up an outreach,” the pastor shared.

“That night we had almost every child in the village in attendance for a HopeFest Celebration, and over the next few weeks, many of the children went through God’s Big Story and learned about Jesus.”

Today, a young church of 50 new believers is thriving in the village — the very first Christians in this strongly islamic community!

as of this writing, the French military was scheduled to be pulling out of Mali after helping suppress islamic militants. Mali was formerly a French colony.

Terrorist groups linked to al-Qaeda had overrun the north and were threatening to topple the weak Malian government.

if Malian troops are unable to contend with the insurgents on their own once France withdraws ... radical jihadists could seize control of the country.

please pray for peace and liberty in Mali — and for protection of our OneHope partners. Thank you!

OneHope partners are already active in six of the eleven nations of the Sahel.

Welcome new partners, Praise FMWe’re excited to welcome praise FM as a new OneHope partner!

The worship-format Gospel station out of Minneapolis-St. paul, Minnesota, has a radio audience of 100,000 and an internet following of about 300,000 — with internet listeners being added at a rate of about 10,000 per month.

The ministry is focused on prayer, and the Holy Spirit has directed the praise FM leadership team to unite their listeners in prayer for OneHope ministry and staff ...

in a recent on-air “Day of Hope” they led listeners not only in praying, but giving, too — more than 100,000 children and youth will be reached by

the generosity of listeners who phoned in that day to make donations!

We’re excited to have caring partners like these offering a covering of prayer over our

partner churches, missionaries, staff and leadership. Be sure to listen to praise FM online at praisefm.org.

A personal word from

President Rob HoskinsDear Friend,

The Year of living Dangerously.

Great film from back in the day! and a great metaphor for OneHope’s outreaches this year, particularly in the heart of africa, where islam, animism and Christianity are set for an inevitable clash.

Our partners know they’re living dangerously — they’ve witnessed the persecution and even martyrdom of their fellow believers.

We here at OneHope know we’re living dangerously — in the past few months, we’ve lost two beloved missionaries to untimely deaths, and several of our staff have lost loved ones or are struggling with life crisis.

But this “living dangerously” in God’s plan doesn’t mean we’re being reckless or careless. it means we’ve all-out committed ourselves — heart, mind, body and spirit — to going exactly where the lord directs us, and saying the words He gives us to speak.

in fact, the more perilous the adventure upon which He sends us, the more critical the need for prayer, strategic preparation, the proper plan and equipment.

Thank you for “living dangerously” with us in africa this year. Our goal, just in the Sahel region alone is to present the life-transforming Word of God to over seven million children and youth.

Your prayers and generous giving will help make it happen — and for a short time, every dollar will be DOUBlED by the $500,000 God’s Truth for africa Matching Challenge.

What a great time to live dangerously — by faith — so that africa’s next generation may know the love of Jesus!

as an orphan girl, being raised by an aunt and uncle, Subrata thought she might have heard about Jesus once before — but never had she seen His life story presented with colorful illustrations and helpful advice from the Scriptures ... the way it was presented in her very own Book of Hope.

Now this little indian girl can understand His story, and His message of redemption, for herself — and perhaps even share it with her family ...

Just like 100 million indian children and youth who have now been reached with the Gospel through OneHope programs.

Our indian partners reported that on February 18, 2013 Subrata became the 100 millionth child reached since our ministry in india began in 1997!

This is a tremendous achievement for india, and it represents our having reached about one-quarter of the youth population.

There is much more to be done — this year our faith goal is to reach 23,990,000 more like Subrata. But right now, we are rejoicing and praising God for this incredible milestone!

100 millionth child reached in India!

digital update: Bible Islands coming soon! Our new “virtual world” for primary-aged children is about to go live!

Bible islands has been tested in the United States and abroad, and the English-language program will soon be available for the churches of North america.

We have partnered with Bible islands Company in the program’s development, and will be partnering with the assemblies of God fellowship to make Bible islands available for local churches.

We expect 10,000 churches to be offering the program in the United States by the end of 2013 — and the Spanish-language program will be offered by another 10,000 churches in Colombia, Mexico and Chile.

Children will register with their local church and will be able to access the program from their home computer, learning Scripture, discovering the Gospel story, competing on teams with other children, learning to pray and give, and much more.

For more information about Bible islands and how to be a part of it, visit www.onehope.net/bible-island-registration.

six days — 745 miles — Zambia to south Africa — Let’s ride! The Hope riders are coming back to the bike trails of Southern africa!

Two years ago the Hope ride raised $40,000 in funding for OneHope programs and our South african partners. This year, the members of the Hope ride team hope to do even more!

They will be biking from Victoria Falls, through Botswana, and finishing in polokwane, South africa — a 745-mile ride they hope to accomplish in six days.

The event generates a lot of great publicity for OneHope and our partners, and sponsorship funds

will help reach more african children and youth with God’s Word.

please be in prayer for the team and a good outcome.

OneHope is an international ministry that presents a biblical message of purpose and hope to children and

youth around the world. in collaboration with churches and ministries — and working with local governments,

schools and non-governmental organizations — OneHope has reached over 880 million young people in over

125 countries with the Gospel message. Through research conducted among children and youth, leaders and

educators in the countries where we work, we have designed innovative ministry models geared to help local

churches and ministries engage young people with Scripture.

God is doing amazing things in the asia pacific! One of our missionary workers, working in a sensitive asian country, reported:

“Blown away by all that is happening here. i was able to visit a club yesterday using God’s Big Story. Quite humbling to see Buddhist slum children recite God’s stories and the lessons learned from our program. i will train 40-50 more children’s pastors this morning in a remote town 4 hours from the capital. This region has been devastated by unrest in recent years. it’s not a coincidence that God is using OneHope to influence the next generation in this region and nation. Blessed!”

Corina heard OneHope president rob Hoskins say that around the world the next generation of young people was looking to her generation in america as their leaders and role models.

What a tremendous responsibility! “i thought, ‘God, how can this be?’” Corina remembers. and that’s when she heard the call.

Discover how this teenager impacted her entire school with God’s Word, and what’s next for her.
