Cohort Data 4 Year Cohort Data

• Forms the basis for calculating graduation and dropout rates. The cohort is the group of students that could potentially graduate during a 4-year time period (grade 9 through grade 12).

4 Year Cohort Graduation Rate:

# of cohort members who earned a regular high school diploma by the end of year 4 in the cohort

# of first-time grade 9 students in year 1 (starting cohort) plus students who transfer in, minus

students who transfer out, emigrate, or die during school years 1, 2, 3, and 4
