Unless otherwise noted, scholarships are targeted to seniors. Students wishing to be competitive for scholarships should continue to challenge themselves academically and be involved in activities and do volunteer service. However, some information has been summarized and the applicant should refer to all original materials provided by the sponsoring organization. This year’s topic will address what is the most appropriate legal, social, and moral response to the issue of “Harassment & Social Media”. This is in reference to recent incidents where people have been harassed by individuals using the internet and social media websites. The speech should be 5-7 minutes long.
Applications are available in the Counseling Center. Deadline - There is a deadline of Friday, April 13 to let Angela Skinder know that you would like to participate. Please do so by email to: [email protected] If there are several participants, we will have a second day of preliminary judging. That day will be Tuesday, April 24 at 4pm at the Thurston County Superior Court Building. The selection committee will award the Pedersen scholarship to qualified applicants within the general foundation scholarship applicant pool.

Primary consideration will be given to those graduates who have completed a high school course of study in vocational-technical education.
Consideration will be given to those students who plan to pursue post high school studies related to their high school vocational-technical course work.
The recipient shall demonstrate good leadership qualities and ability to succeed at a post-secondary vocational training institution.
