Jake Miller Artist to Watch By ANGEL WONG Bubble Glitter TV: If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be? Jake Miller: I would love to do a collaboration with Drake. He’s always been my all time favorite. Not to mention I have his new CD “Take Care” on replay literally 24/7. BGTV: Are the songs you've written based on real life experiences? If so, would you like to elaborate? JM: Every song has a different inspiration behind it – whether it is about girls, relationships, friends, the desire to succeed, reaching for ones dreams. Different things inspire me everyday and I am constantly writing words and lyrics and ideas down. BGTV: Do you have any hidden talents? JM: I love drawing BGTV: If you could see anyone perform (past or present) who would you see? JM: I could watch Drake over and over. BGTV: You have opened up for artists like Snoop Dogg and Mac Miller, do you ever get nervous before a performance? What were these opportunities like? JM: Opening for Snoop Dogg was actually my very first live performance ever so while I was definitely a bit nervous I was also so appreciative that I had this amazing opportunity. It was such an incredible experience and definitely one of the best nights in my life. BGTV: What inspired you to pursue your music career? JM: When I was in 9th grade, I turned all of the poems I had written in my English class into songs using GarageBand on my Mac. From there, I found that YouTube was the best outlet I could use to share my music with my friends. They immediately gave me positive feedback on the songs I put out and in turn I was inspired to put a few more of my songs on YouTube. BGTV: Stop Burgers in Weston, Florida gave you the opportunity to create your own burger, what was the experience like? JM: I think it is so cool that one of my favorite places to dine named a burger after me and that my name was put on their “celebrity menu” next to the legendary Dan Marino and Jason Taylor. Also, it is important for me to give back so 50% of the net proceeds of my burger go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an incredible and inspirational organization that makes the dreams of so many (children) come true.
