• presented image of the University as “difficult” and “inaccessible”

• had no consistent look and feel

• provided conflicting information

• provided out-of-date information

• was an impediment to building life-long relationships

What is a Content Management System?

• “Raw” content is authored by content owners directly, via a web form

• One copy of content, published to multiple locations

• Presentation or “look & feel” separate from content

• Automated workflow governs the publishing process

• Content is user controlled and managed

• Content has review and expiry dates which trigger workflows

The CMS Project

• Implemented the CMS for the main University website

• Content to be managed by Publications Office, Marketing & Student Recruitment, Development & External Affairs, Student Services, Student Centre, Intranet team

• Created generic content templates and workflows for use across the University

• Created a support model for the CMS and the new corporate image
