TEACHER WALK OUT CAMP

COMMITTED....Commitment. It’s a word that may cause some to fear and feel trapped, yet brings happiness and security to others. ’’The Response is “Acts”

As we read the Bible’s book of Acts, we notice that something happened in the lives and attitudes of the disciples following Jesus’ resurrection. In fact, the name of the book itself – “the Acts of the Apostles” seems to sum it up. Those who had seen the risen Lord acted. They engaged in all sorts of active responses to the happy message of a living Lord. They

went out (a church should never assume that “posting worship times and opening the doors on Sunday morning ought to be good enough”), they told others (it’s easier than many think. You don’t need to preach, teach, or straighten anyone out. Just let folks know you’re a Christian, a member of the church, that you’ve found something you believe is good, and that they’re welcome to it, too!), and they met together frequently for the sake of both themselves and one another (it’s like a pot luck dinner – you bring your little, and everyone enjoys a lot!)

One can never prove what didn’t happen, but I wonder what my life would be like if a couple of young men had not reached out to me, told me, and gotten me involved in a group of Christians years ago, when my life was headed in a bad direction. Is there someone in your circle of friends to whom you might reach out, invite, and include in the life of the gathered community of faith? The Biblical example of response to the Resurrection is “acts”.

See you Sunday, Kevin Tully

SAFETY AND SECURITY CHANGESWith the growing emphasis on safety and security at Churches around the nation we are taking measures to ensure the staff, congregation and visitors at Bartlesville First Church are in a safe environment. With this in mind, the decision has been made to limit the number of entry points to the main entrance and the two adjoining hallways visible to the atrium. All other doors will be "exit only" during normal operations. There will be more information and instructions to come as we continue to build out the overall safety program at Bartlesville First Church.
