From Fr Davy's Desk: After 40 days of prayer, fasting and alms giving we now celebrate with joy Easter, the resurrection of our Lord Jesus! During the Easter season we often praise God say-ing, Alleluia! We have reason to praise God because the resurrection of Jesus is the beginning of a new life. As Saint Paul writes: If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith (1 Cor. 15:14). The resurrection of Jesus rose from the dead reminds us that death is not the end. It is only the door to beyond. The ceremonies during the Holy Week helped us to pre-pare for Easter. In order to enter into the joy of Easter, we should pass through the suffering and agony Jesus went through. Life is a mixture of Good Fridays and Easter Sundays. Jesus’ death and resurrection be the center of our lives. The highpoint in God’s plan for us was the resurrection. It is a journey from darkness to light, sorrow to joy and disappointment to hope. Mary Magdalene, and others who accompanied her, went early morning to the tomb. They were in darkness, sorrow and disappointment. When they received the good news about the resurrection what a joy and excitement they had! We see the same excitement in Peter, John and other disciples. It is now our excitement as well. This is the reason why we repeat during Easter season 'Alleluia’. On Easter Sunday let the risen Lord who appeared to the women and the disciples rejuvenate our faith life. Let him turn our suffering to glory, sorrow to joy and darkness to light. Every time when we go to church let us have the same enthusiasm the women and the disciples who went quickly to the tomb of Jesus. Our conscious contact with Je-sus and the resurrection experience may help us to practice our faith and be the mes-sengers of peace. During the Holy Week many parishioners worked hard, strenuously and tirelessly to make every liturgical ceremony so lively and memorable. I sincerely thank them all. May I join Fr Antony to wish you all a Blessed and Peaceful Easter! Fr Kavungal Davy, CMI
