The readings for Palm, or Passion, Sunday are the most dramatic of the whole year. They recount the entire story of Christ’s death from Holy Thursday through Good Friday. One of the unusual aspects of this week’s Gospel reading is that it is the one time during the year when all of us take part in proclaiming the Word of God by participating in the Gospel reading.

“Put His Will in Your Will!” Clause for Christian Will

I give, devise, and bequeath to St. Thomas More Catholic Parish-Spokane, a Washington non-profit corporation

(description of gift).

How many times have you heard someone make a disparaging comment about Jesus or our Catholic

faith? How did you react? Do you remain quiet not to cause a disturbance? Or, do you remain quiet because you believe people will think negatively about you? Pray for the courage to speak up and

enter into a respectful dialogue when the opportunity arises.

Collection for the Catholic Church in the United States

Mission is at the heart of the our Catholic

Faith. The Collection for the Catholic Church in the United States provides a

way to build up the Church in rural and isolated regions of our country. This one

collection takes the place of six that would otherwise be held at various times throughout the year. Although the

Collection for the Catholic Church in the US supports national ministries, the

Diocese of Spokane receives meaningful grants from both the Catholic Homes

Missions and Black and Native American Missions. These grants support different

ministries at the local level. Please use the envelopes that you receive in the mail to

make your contribution to the World Missions Collection.

Special Request for Financial Help

Fr. Luta Nsubuga, formerly a Parochial Vicar of St Thomas More Parish, is currently serving as a pastor of 3 parishes in Okanogan County. One of those parishes, St. Francis in Tonasket, is in need of new heat pumps for their church and parish hall– both have

failed in the past several months, and repairing them is no longer practical given the amount of need and the age of the

units. This a small, low-income parish comprised primarily of agricultural workers, and the cost of replacement of these units (about $16,000) is beyond their reach. Fr Luta is asking if there

is any St. Thomas More parishioners who would be willing to help them out and contribute to the cost of these heat pumps. If you might be interested, or would welcome more information,

please speak with Fr. Pat. Thank you.
