Easter becomes the greatest and the most important feast for us in
the Church. If Jesus Christ had not risen from the dead, the Church
would not be existing today. Without the Resurrection, Jesus
would have remained forever a good person who had met a tragic
end. All the readings of the day have their focus on the Lord’s
resurrection and its effects. Jesus did rise from the dead and all
the words that He spoke, deeds He performed and promises He
made to us is true.
The resurrection of Christ is not simply an event that took place
long ago. It’s an event that continues to take place when we walk
with the Lord through the trials and suffering of life with hope and
trust in His power to do all good things. When wise men of the
world put Him to death, because the rejected his way, God raised
Jesus to a new life, thus demonstrating that the way of Jesus is the
true way of life. This is the Easter relevance for today. If the risen
Christ is not relevant for us today, to whom would we go to
discover the radiance of the face of God?

para nosotros en la Iglesia. Si Jesucristo no hubiera resucitado de
entre los muertos, la Iglesia no existiría hoy. Sin la Resurrección,
Jesús habría permanecido para siempre como una buena persona
que había encontrado un final trágico. Todas las lecturas del día
se centran en la resurrección del Señor y sus efectos. Jesús se
levantó de entre los muertos y todas las palabras que habló, los
hechos que hizo y las promesas que nos hizo son verdaderas.
La resurrección de Cristo no es simplemente un acontecimiento
que tuvo lugar hace mucho tiempo. Es un acontecimiento que
sigue teniendo lugar cuando caminamos con el Señor a través de
las pruebas y el sufrimiento de la vida con esperanza y confianza
en Su poder para hacer todas las cosas buenas. Cuando los sabios
del mundo lo pusieron a muerte, porque el rechazado a su manera,
Dios resucitó a Jesús a una nueva vida, demostrando así que el
camino de Jesús es el verdadero camino de la vida. Esta es la
relevancia de Pascua para hoy. Si el Cristo resucitado no es
relevante para nosotros hoy, ¿a quién iríamos a descubrir el
resplandor del rostro de Dios?

ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUOUS SUPPORT Because of the recent Coronavirus pandemic, we have all been impacted in one way or another. The Church continues to offer Mass on a daily basis, and we have been praying for all of you and for an end to the pandemic. While our pews maybe empty in the church, we know that you are with us in spirit. We hope to reopen the Church doors soon for everyone to come worship
in person. We thank each of you for your support during this
time and we rely on your offerings to maintain the day to day operations going. Please use our online giving platform to make your weekly offering or you may drop off your envelope via our new outside mail slot. We thank you for your support and we hope to see you all face to face soon. Since we are not allowed to have "in-person" Mass, some people have asked about their weekly contributions to the church. There are a few approaches to continue this.

If you are temporarily out of work, only give if you are able. If you have a steady income, maybe give a little more to compensate for those who can't. Remember that the bills for the church continue regardless. Stay healthy and close to Jesus during this time of shelter at home. We all look forward to the day when we can gather again in the church for Mass and are
able to give a hug to our church family.

Plenary Indulgence Out of concern for all Catholics during the coronavirus pandemic, the Holy Father on March 20 announced three special plenary indulgences for people with Covid-19, and for those who care for them, including family members and medical staff, and for those who pray for them. Due to the coronavirus pandemic creating difficulties in obtaining the sacraments in a timely manner, the Holy See is allowing the faithful to obtain the indulgences without immediately completing the three usual conditions (confession, Eucharist, prayer for the pope's intentions). For the first two indulgences, it suffices to intend to confess and receive Communion as soon as possible. For the third indulgence, the usual threefold conditions are lifted entirely.
