Never a Dull Moment! We have had a lot of ministry happen over the past month and a half and we hope to catch you up on some of what has been happening in Colombia in this newsletter! (Sorry this will be longer ....just read the captions you are interested in!) Shor t T er m Team The rst week of March we were privileged to hav e a short term team from Chapel Hill, NC serve alongside our ministries at Iglesia Raah. This tri p was a vision trip to see if they were interested in partnering long-term with our ministr ies here. We did two evangelistic concerts the week they were here in parks around two church plants we are working with. We had lots of opportunities to share the Gospel and love on the people i n our communities. They also served at a mercy ministr y site we have worked with, serving meals to over 250 kids, doing 3 music classe s, and working in the kit chen. But most of all, they were able to just sit down and talk with kids and love on them – something many of these kids don’t often receive. Music School As mentioned in our last newsletter, we have gained permission to open the school in one of our local churches. The aspirations were to open at the end of April, beginning of May . But as we sat down and looked at the calendar as well as the many needs, we hav e decided to postpone it s opening until the second week of July. Students have a short break the last two weeks of June and the rst week of July . So that seemed li ke a better time to begin somet hing new. Also, we are still lackin g a lot in terms of instruments and supplies. The students we are reaching out to don’t have the means to purchase their own instr uments, etc. So we need to hav e instruments at the school that kids can practice on, use during class es, etc. We have been blessed by a couple individuals who have donated money to buy instruments and a couple others who have donated instruments. If you would like to help by doing either, please contact us immediately! In other music news, we have started work ing with music in our home church, Iglesia Raah, before the school open s. The session has given me its blessing to ser ve as its music director and we have made a plan t o have a worship team trained and ready to go for January 2013! We are really excited about this and ask for your prayers as we seek the Lord’s guidance in this endeavor! New T eammat es We were also excited to welcome Nathaniel and Alicia Gutierrez, as well as their two kids – Jeremiah and Gabriell a, to our team as they are preparing for long term service in Peru. Alicia is going to be studying Spanish while Nathaniel works with us in church planting. They stay ed with our family upon arrival and were blessed to nd an apartment of their own this week! Pray that God blesses their work and studies here as they prepare to serve in Peru. Continued >> 4.27.2012 Volume 3 Issue 2

Short Term TeamThe rst week of March we were privileged to have a short term team from Chapel Hill, NC serve alongside our ministries

at Iglesia Raah. This trip was a vision trip to see if they were interested in partnering long-term with our ministries here. We

did two evangelistic concerts the week they were here in parks around two church plants we are working with. We had lots

of opportunities to share the Gospel and love on the people in our communities. They also served at a mercy ministry site

we have worked with, serving meals to over 250 kids, doing 3 music classes, and working in the kitchen. But most of all, they

Other NewsSome other news is that we will be doing another Living in Grace conference in two weeks at another one of our loca

churches. Peter Boling will be teaching and I will be leading music. Please be praying for this event and for the Holy Spirit to

be moving in and shaping our local churches!

This week we are meeting with our full team, both those here and those on furlough, to discuss with an MTW church planting

director our vision, plan, and direction for church planting and how we are going to incorporate church planter training into

our ministry. Be praying for wisdom and patience as we seek to esh this out together!

Family NewsAs our family grows, so does our understanding and love for

one another! Ben turned 4 years old this past month! It is

fun to watch him grow into a little man and begin thinking

and acting independently! He is doing well at school, although

Spanish is still a hindrance, and he loves to go every morning!

At Parent teacher conferences, the only thing they mentioned

was that he was always hungry and asking for food! He is stil

a big boy! Bella is wonderful and has taken to her little sister

as a second mom! She loves to hold her, kiss her, talk to her

comfort her, and take care of her every need! It is amazing to

watch her natural God-given gifts come out with Lily! Lily is

a true joy! She is always smiling and cooing and interested in

everything. She always wants to be standing and has to see

what is going on! She is starting to cut teeth, so that is not as

fun, but she has been a delight to our family! Hope and I are

still adjusting, but doing well! We nally got to go on a couple

dates these last couple months which were a blast! We have also had friends from language school living across the street

from us for 4 months and so we got to go out with them and our kids got to play together a lot. They returned to southern

Colombia last week and we are missing their friendship, but thankful for the time we had!
