Volunteering for the Canadian Cancer Society is an excellent way to honour the memory of someone you have lost to cancer. Pictured here is Stephanie Pilote, who bravely took on the responsibility of pre-selling daffodils to her classmates and to the staff at Ecole Secondaire Catholique Trillium, in memory of her grandmother. Pictured with Stephanie is Rosane Connelly, a volunteer from the Canadian Cancer Society. Thank you Stephanie!

Pictured above is the small army of volunteers from the Students’ Council of Chapleau High School, who became partners with the local branch of the Canadian Cancer Society for Daffodil Days last week. The students pre-sold daffodils to their classmates, families and friends. They were hugely successful in their efforts: almost 20% of all daffodils purchased in Chapleau were sold by these students! Awesome job!

We have a Toll Free Crisis Line which is staffed 24 hours a day. We can arrange for free transportation to the Centre for women who live in the Algoma/Chapleau area. We also offer support to women who live in the communities of Chapleau, White River, Dubreuilville, and Horne-payne through our Outreach Program. Our Outreach Worker travels to those communities to meet with women who need emotional support as well as information about their rights and options. If you need to speak with the Outreach Worker when she is in your community, you can call the Centre at any time to set up an appointment. You do not need to be a resident of the Centre in order to use our services.
