USING A LAYERING SYSTEM

OUTER LAYER

Our range of outer layer garments was specifically designed for you

and are available as waterproofs and flame retardant waterproofs.

GORE-TEX® waterproof fabric delivers the ultimate in waterproof

performance and breathability. Perspiration can easily escape helping

maintain greater comfort in hot conditions. Our flame retardant

waterproofs are breathable, flame retardant, anti-static and provide

arc protection.

MID LAYER

High visibility polycotton workwear helps you stay safe; stay seen.

It is worn over base layers and underneath waterproof or flame retardant

waterproof outer wear.

Because we know you’ll really put every garment through its paces, we only use the latest,

most technologically advanced fabrics for our workwear.

BASE LAYER

These lightweight, durable base layers, worn under protective workwear,

offer complete comfort next to skin and are available in flame retardant

or arc protection fabric in a variety sizes and styles to suit your needs.

Wear underneath your workwear to stay cool in the summer and warm

in the winter.

THE COMPLETE SERVICE

CARING FOR YOUR GARMENTS

Care and cleaning of high visibility garments

is essential to ensure they retain the

protection and high visibility properties and

remain conformant to the EN20471 high

visibility standard. Laundry companies have

developed a totally complete cleansing

process that does not harm any of the

components of high visibility clothing.

WORKING WITH A LAUNDRY PARTNER

High visibility garments can be cleaned,

repaired and refurbished by a laundry

company and we recommend you use the

industrial laundry service provided by

Network Rail to clean your garments

professionally. Garments are barcoded and

each wearer is given a unique identity that

allows a laundry partner to monitor the

number of times a garment has been

cleaned or repaired. Every time a garment

is laundered it is manually inspected and if

needed, replaced or repaired. Prior to

dispatching, garments are once again

manually checked, folded then packed to

ensure they are returned ready to be worn.

BE SEEN, BE SAFE

Workwear that is left unclean is unsafe, uneconomical and most certainly unlawful. Care and cleaning of

your garment will ensure you stay safe, clean and legal. To be conformant to EN20471, a garment must

have a specified amount of VISIBLE background fabric and reflective tape. A garment that is heavily

soiled will have a vastly reduced amount of reflective fabric and tape that can be clearly seen. As a result

the garment is no longer conformant to EN20471.

SAFE AND CLEAN

A garment that is safe to

wear and conforms to

standard EN20471.

READY TO LAUNDER

The garment is clearly soiled

and the background fabric and

reflective tape has been

compromised, lessening the

performance of the garment.

POTENTIAL DANGER

This garment quite clearly

requires cleaning and should

not continue to be worn. This

product no longer conforms to

EN20471 because a large

area of the high visibility fabric

has been soiled.

DANGEROUS GARMENT

This garment is heavily soiled

to such a degree that it may

well impair the cleaning process.

The life of this garment is

substantially reduced due to

heavy soiling and is no longer

conformant to EN20471.
