How to Make It

Direct crafters to glue a tagboard quarter onto the paper plate. Ask crafters to glue the ladybug head along the top edge of the paper plate.

Assist crafters in tracing the ladybug head template onto black construction paper and cutting it out. Then have crafters cut a sheet of tagboard into quarters.

Invite crafters to turn a paper plate faceup and color it in.

Show crafters how the ladybug’s wings open and close to reveal the tagboard underneath. Advise crafters to add a message or picture for a favorite teacher or coach. When they’re done, have them close the ladybug’s wings.

Assist crafters in adding a hole to the top of the first plate, just below the ladybug’s head. Direct crafters to push the brad fastener (with the other plate halves still in place) through the first plate to secure all the plates together. Instruct crafters to close the fastener.

Little Ladybug! Teacher Appreciation Card

4 Have crafters set a second paper plate facedown, color it in and then cut it in half. Direct crafters to overlap the corners of the two plate halves, add a hole and then insert a brad fastener into the hole.

7 Invite crafters to decorate the ladybug using the arts and crafts materials.

8 Once all the materials dry, this card is ready for someone special!
