INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The term informationhas a diversity of meanings, fromeveryday usage to technical interpretations. Generally
speaking, the concept of information is associated with
knowledge derived from study, experience, or
instruction. Technology, on the other hand, refers to the
application of knowledge to the practical aims of human
life, or to changing and manipulating the human
environment. Technology includes the use of materials,
tools, techniques and sources of power to make life easier
or more pleasant and work more productive. Technology
began to influence human endeavor as soon as people
began using tools. Technology also started being used for
managing information when the amount and variety of
information grew to such vast proportions that the humanbrain could neither store nor process it efficiently.
DEFINATION
Information Technology is a general term that describes
any technology that helps to produce, manipulate, store, communicate and/or disseminate information.
Presumably, when speaking of Information Technology as
a whole, it is noted that the use of computers and
information are associated. Information Technology

"the study, design, development, implementation, support
or management of computer-based information systems,
particularly software applications and computer
hardware. IT deals with the use of computers andcomputer software to convert, store,
protect, process, transmit
and securely retrieve information.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
The computer and information systems industries,
Information Technology is the capability to electronically
input, process, store, output, transmit, and receive data
and information, including text, graphics, sound, and
video, as well as the ability to control machines of all
kinds electronically. Information Technology is comprised
of computers, networks, satellite communications,
robotics, video, text, cable television, electronic mail "e-
mail", electronic games, and automated office equipment.
The information industry consists of all computer,
communications, and electronics-related organizations,
including hardware, software, and services. Completing
tasks using Information Technology results in rapidprocessing and information mobility, as well as improved
reliability and integrity of processed information.

AFFORDABILITY
Information technology is providing us with affordable
devices and machines. They are more effective than men.
The work faster than a human being. They are off course
costly when you purchase them. But after that they are
totally made for you. If you hire laborers you have to pay
them daily. But a device cant need any labor.
DATA PROCESSING
Information technology provides industry with the
conventional data processing technique. Devices operate
on the principal of input to processing to output.
COMMUNICATION
Information technology facilitates with the tools of
communications. These communications may be with in
the industry or for outside information. It connects withinternet for worldwide communications.

Information technology is not only the data processing but
it also useful for storage of data. For industrial usage you
can store contents, formulas, accounts, etc.
DESIGNING
Information technology is totally different form the old
ways of products and development designing. It does not
requires any paper or pen. It includes soft wareswhich
are helpful for designing and development.
SUPPORT
Information technology is a very friendly tool to be used
up till now. It supports all data processing and
communicates able devices. It easily connects to the device
by the means of wires, wireless, infrared , Bluetooth, etc.
SECURE DATA
Information technology guarantees the security and
backup facility for data. Industries have hundreds of data
transfers at a single second of time. i.t improves its
quality of storing data.
THATS WHY INDUSTRY MOVES FOR

Every day, people use computers in new ways.
Computers and other electronic devices are becoming
increasingly affordable. They continue to be more
powerful as information-processing tools as well as
easier to use. Humans are continually becoming
dependant on IT-enabled devices for carrying outsimple tasks like remembering a phone number to
complex ones like flying a fighter plane. Information
Technology has applications in almost all aspects of
our life.
MEETING THE NEEDS OF POPULATION.
Eventually technology will become so advanced and
useful that it causes the human race to stop evolving.
Thomas Malthus pointed out that during times of
famine and poverty population rates go down.
Charles Darwin took this idea and created how
evolution works, which is that only the fit survive that
is only people who have the best genetics live on to
reproduce. Because Technology works to fix the
hardships of people, the people no longer need to

adapt to the problem. Because we don't evolve to be
weak or insufficeint there will be no new problems
developing. That said it isn't how technology changes
to meet the needs of people it is how technologygrows so that there are no more needs.
EFFICIENT PRODUCTION
Disturbance reduction techniques are a combination for
improving efficiency in manufacturing systems. Themodeling allows different tests to be carried out by step-
by-step alteration. The use of manufacturing
improvement techniques should be combined for best
results. The changes in disturbances will show us different
alternatives in output of the manufacturing system. Two
case studies have been drawn up to study the possibilities
for disturbance reduction in manufacturing systems with
the proposed method for improved overall manufacturing
efficiency. The case studies showed an improvement of
output of 14 per cent and 18 per cent, respectively.
CONTROLSThis technology is also one of the fastest changing,
and today's industrial control System vendors are
quick to implement the latest technologies in sensor
design and network capabilities.

INFORMATION
Information technology makes you able to collect
information regarding your industry. This
information may be from external or internal
reporters. You can calculate and compare your
performance easily.
SECURITY
Information technology improves the security issues in
a production department. Sensors and cameras are
connected to the computers to monitor the activities. If any problem occurs they respond instantly.
Therefore no threat if you are in favor of information
technology .

The most inspiring technology now a day is e
productivity. Companies are feeling relax of heavy and
variety of production. One of common example is paint
industry. They are producing a variety of colors to satisfytheir customers.
REAL TIME AUTOMATION
Automation is the use ofsystems andinformation
technologies to reduce the need for human work in the
production of goods and services. In the scope
ofindustrialization,automation is a step
beyond mechanization. Whereas mechanization provides
human operators withmachinery to assist them with the
muscular requirements of work, automation greatly
decreases the need for human sensory and mental
requirements as well. Automation plays an increasingly
important role in theworld economyand in dailyexperience. Automation has had a notable impact in a
wide range of industries beyond manufacturingtelephoneoperators have been replaced largely by
automatedtelephone switchboards and answering

machines. Medical processes such as primary screening in
electrocardiography orradiography and laboratory
analysis of humangenes, sera, cells, andtissues are carried
out at much greater speed and accuracy by automatedsystems.Automated teller machines have reduced the
need for bank visits to obtain cash and carry out
transactions. In general, automation has been responsible
for the shift in the world economy from industrial jobs to
service jobs in the 20th and 21st centuries.
ADVANCED CONTROLS
Advanced process control is a broad term composed of
different kinds ofprocess control tools, often used for
solving multivariable control problems or discrete control
problem. Advanced control describes a practice which
draws elements from many disciplines ranging from
control engineering, signal processing, statistics, decisiontheory and artificial intelligence.
APC can be found in the (petro) chemical industries where
it makes it possible to control multivariable control
problems. Since these controllers contain the dynamic
relationships between variables it can predict in the future
how variables will behave. Based on these predictions, actions can be taken now to maintain variables within
limits

Information Technology plays a vital role in most of our
daily activities. There is hardly anyone who has not been
affected or influenced by IT. With each passing day, newer
applications of IT are being developed which increase our
interaction with and dependence on IT-enabled devices. Therefore, understanding this technology and using it
creatively is imperative to human progress.
