The official curriculum at UWCs is International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) and in the most of them the teaching language is English. In UWC in Mostar, all the students from Bosnia and Herzegovina have their mother tongues as obligatory subject. The IB DP also includes wide range of obligatory extra curriculum activities called CAS (creativity, action, service). After two years of staying and successful conducting of final IB DP exams the UWC students are rewarded IB Diploma. IB Diploma is internationally recognized high-school diploma which enables students to assign universities all around the world as well as in Bosnia and Herzegovina. More detailed information about IB DP curriculum and its recognition around the world you can find on the web site www.ibo.org .

Application criteria:

Candidates should be prepared for a two year long studies during their education at the UWC. The candidates should be in the second grade of secondary school in Bosnia and Herzegovina or its international equivalent at the time of applying. At the end of application process the candidates must not be younger than 15 or older than 17 years)

The student selection will be made based on the following documents: 1. Applications form (filled in English)2. Certified copy of the first grade high school diploma 3. School grades print out from the first semester of the second grade (certified by the current

school)4. The copy of any certificate or proof of extra-curriculum activities (sport clubs; NGO-s, ecology

Misija Koledža ujedinjenog svijeta (United World Colleges - UWC)„Kroz Koledže ujedinjenog svijeta obrazovanje postaje snaga koja ujedinjuje ljude, nacije i kulture u težnji ka miru i održivoj budućnosti.“

Misija Organizacije za Međunarodnu maturu Program Međunarodne mature ima za cilj da svoje učenike odgoji u znatiželjne, obrazovane i požrtvovane mlade ljude koji su spremni pomoći u stvaranju boljeg i mirnijeg svijeta kroz međukulturalno razumijevanje i obrazovanje. Povi programi ohrabruju učenike širom svijeta da postanu aktivni učesnici života koji razumiju da drugi ljudi, bez obzira na njihove razlike, mogu biti u pravu.

Nastavni plan i program u Koledžima ujedinjenog svijeta je Međunarodna matura a nastavni jezik u većini koledža je engleski. U Koledžu ujedinjenog svijeta u Mostaru, učenicima iz BiH je obavezan predmet i maternji jezik, prema njihovu izboru. Sastavni dio nastavnog programa Mađunarodne mature je i širok spektar vannastavnih aktivnosti tzv. CAS (kreativnost, akcija, služba u zajednici). Nakon dvogodišnjeg školovanja i uspješnog savladavanja završnih ispita učenicima Koledža ujedinjenog svijeta se dodjeljuje diploma Međunarodne mature (IB DP). Diploma Međunarodne mature je u svijetu najpriznatija srednjoškolska diploma koja omogućava upis na univerzitete širom svijeta te u Bosni i Hercegovini. Kriteriji za apliciranje:Kandidat/kinja trebaju biti spremni na dvogodišnje pohađanje programa Međunarodne mature u Koledžu ujedinjenog svijeta. U vrijeme apliciranja kandidati/kinje trebaju pohađati II. razred srednje četverogodišnje škole u BiH ili ekvivalentan razred ukoliko se školuju u inozemstvu ili prema nekom drugom međunarodnom programu. Po završetku natječaja učenici ne smiju biti mlađi od 15 ili stariji od 17 godina. Selekcija učenika će se vršiti na osnovu priložene dokumentacije:

1. Aplikacijski formular (ispunjen na engleskom jeziku)2. Ovjerena kopija svjedodžbe I. razreda četverogodišnje srednje škole3. Prijepis ocjena prvog polugodišta II. razreda četverogodišnje srednje škole (ovjeren od strane

škole)4. Kopija dokaza o sudjelovanju u vannastavnim aktivnostima (npr. potvrde o angažmanima u

sportskom klubu, nevladinim organizacijama, sudjelovanju na natjecanjima, ekološkim organizacijama, itd)

5. Ovjerena kopija uvjerenja o BiH državljanstvu

Napomene: Nepotpune aplikacije, kao i aplikacije pristigle nakon naznačenog roka prijave neće se

uzimati u razmatranje. Članovi selekcijskog odbora neće odgovarati na telefonske pozive ili e-mailove čija je

svrha utjecanje na selekcijski proces.

Section E Information about United World Colleges

UWCs encourage graduates to return to their home country after completing their education and training. Applicants should show a commitment to return to home country to use their experiences, skills and knowledge to assist in the development of their own countries and the perseverance of peace, developing of mutual understanding and justice enforcement in the national context.

Parents or guardians are, together with the applicant, responsible for signing this form, but the decision to apply must lie above all with applicants themselves.

United World Colleges movement (UWC) is unique. It is the only global educational movement that brings together students from all over the world – regardless of their ability to pay – with the aim of fostering international understanding, peace and justice. A UWC education features high academic standards, a strong emphasis on community service and a wide range of cultural and outdoor activities.

Twelve of the United World Colleges teach the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) which blends the specialisation preferred in some national education systems with the breadth of others. IB DP students chose to study three subjects at higher level and the three subjects at the standard level. The language of instruction in the UWCs is largely English. Basic knowledge of English is helpful but not a requirement to apply for UWC scholarship. Many students with little or no English language knowledge on acceptance have been very successful thanks to their determination and motivation.

ScholarshipsStudents are selected for United World Colleges on the basis of merit, regardless of their background. To make this possible scholarship funds are raised from graduates, friends, foundations, business, non-governmental organisations and governments. Scholarship support is usually based on need; however some students' parents may be asked and expected to make contributions to the costs of their attendance, travel and/or pocket money according to their ability to do so. Assessments of families' ability to make such contributions will be made as impartially as possible and by agreement between the UWC National/Selection Committee or the College and the families concerned.

Sekcije E Informacije o Koledžima ujedinjenog svijeta

Koledži ujedinjenog svijeta žele ohrabriti učenike u nastojanju da se nakon završenog školovanja i obuke vrate u svoje matične zemlje. Kandidati trebaju pokazati posvećenost povratku u matične zemlje kako bi iskoristili stečena iskustva, vještine i znanje u razvoju svojih zemalja, održavanju mira, širenju razumijevanja i jačanju pravde u nacionalnom kontekstu.

Roditelji ili skrbnici su zajedno sa kandidatima odgovorni za potpisivanje ovog formulara, ali odluku o prijavi kandidat mora donijeti samostalno.

Koledži ujedinjenog svijeta su jedinstven pokret. To je jedini globalni obrazovni pokret koji spaja učenike iz cijelog svijeta – neovisno o njihovoj mogućnosti da plate školovanje – sa ciljem promicanja međunarodnog razumijevanja, mira i pravde. UWC obrazovanje njeguje visoke obrazovne standarde, sa jakim naglaskom na službi u zajdenici i širokim spektrom kulturnih i sportskih aktivnosti.

Najveći broj Koledža ujedinjenog svijeta radi po programu Međunarodne mature na engleskom jeziku. Učenici Međunarodne mature biraju tri predmeta koja će izučvati na višem i tri predmeta koja će izučavati na standarnom nivou. Od učenika se očekuje da posjeduju osnovno poznavanje jezika kako bi uspješno maturirali na ovom programu.

Stipendirana školarinaZa Koledže ujedinjenog svijeta učenici se biraju isključivo na temelju vlastitih zasluga i znanja, neovisno o njihovom podrijetlu. Kako bi to bilo moguće, novac za školarine prikupljaju bivši učenici, prijatelji, fondacije, poslovni partneri, nevladine i vladine organizacije. Stipendirana školarina podrazumijeva plaćeno školovanje, smještaj, hranu te školski materijal (ovisno o koledžu na koji kandidat aplicira).
