棟方が生まれた「AOMORI」から、「伝統」と「革新」が融合する化学反応を、トリエンナーレを契機に創出し、国内のみならず、世界とつながる機会を生み出すことを目的に、AOMORIトリエンナーレ 2017 を開催します。classical 部門　棟方志功国際版画大賞においては、棟方志功をはじめとした多くの版画家を輩出し、古くから版画文化を育んできた青森市において、優れた作品に触れる機会の充実と、次世代を切り拓く才能の発掘を目的に公募展を開催します。

応募作品の審査結果は、2017 年 11 月の審査終了後、応募者に通知（メールもしくは郵送）いたします。なお、棟方志功大賞及び優秀賞の受賞者については、公式ガイドブック等に掲載するための受賞コメントをいただきますので、審査結果通知後、主催者指定の期日までにメールもしくは郵送で受賞コメントをお送りください。また、入選者については、略歴等を公式ガイドブック等に掲載するため、応募票記載内容に誤りがないかを主催者から確認させていただきます。※印刷物作成の関係で、受賞コメント作成の期間を１週間程度しか設けることができない可能性がありますので、ご協力をお願いいたします。

応募資格国籍・年齢不問

①2015 年以降に制作された未発表の作品であることが条件となります。②サイズ（額装の大きさも含み）200 センチ×200 センチ以内、重量（額装の重さも含み）15kg 以内、額装の厚さ 20センチ以内とする。額装の有無は不問とし、アクリルは可とします。 ※壁面に展示可能な状態で出品してください。③作品の天地がわかるように額裏面右上に出品票を添付してください。（出品票は輸送用の箱の上にも添付してください）④必ず 1作品につき 1つの包装で送ってください。複数の出品者の同一包装は受け付けません。

出品料を下記金融機関口座へ振り込み、振込票のコピーと応募申込書類（①応募票②応募作品受付証③審査結果通知表）を応募期間内に郵送してください。振込手数料は応募者負担となります。なお、受付後は、応募作品受付証をメールもしくは郵送でお送りします。また、審査結果は、メールもしくは郵送でお知らせします。「応募作品受付証」及び「審査結果通知表」を郵送希望される方は、返信用封筒（封筒に 82円切手を貼り、宛先に自身の住所、裏に作品タイトルを記載したもの）を２枚同封してください。

主催

・出品作品は開梱・再梱包が容易な箱に収納し、移動中損傷のないように出品してください。・作品の取り扱いには細心の注意を払いますが、不慮の損傷について、また作品の応募及び返却に係る運送中の事故・損傷についてはその責任を一切負いません。・応募時、返却時、主催者の作品取り扱い時とも、作品に保険が必要な場合は応募者が負担して保険をかけてください。・審査結果は２０１７年１２月上旬までに応募者全員に審査結果通知票により通知しますが、審査に関する問い合わせには一切応じません。・出品票は１点ごとに作品と箱の両方に添付してください。・輸送料、返送料、保険料、税金など応募に関わるすべての経費は応募者に負担していただきます。・主催者は、広報・宣伝・カタログ・公式ガイドブック・資料作成などのため、作品の撮影、写真の掲載ができる権利を有するものとします。

【国内応募作品】受賞・入選作品は展覧会終了後（30日以内）、その他の作品は審査終了後（50日以内）に料金着払いで返送します。展覧会直後の返却はできません。なお、返送先不明等により返送できず、一定期間経過しても応募者から連絡がない場合は、主催者側において処分します。

【国外応募作品】審査結果にかかわらず、いかなる場合でも出品作品は返送しませんのでご注意ください。出品作品はすべて主催者に帰属するものとします。また、出品作品は社会貢献やトリエンナーレ運営のために各所に寄贈や売却する場合もあります。

Application Guideline for the “Shiko Munakata International Block Printing Award”, Classical Department, AOMORI TRIENNALE 2020

ObjectiveWe proudly present AOMORI TRIENNALE 2020 to trigger the chemical reaction of the fusion of “tradition” and “innovation” from “AOMORI”, the birthplace of Shiko Munakata, and to create the opportunity to connect notonly with other parts of Japan but also with the world. The “Shiko Munakata International Block Print Award” of the Classical Department is the publicly solicited art exhibition to enrich the opportunity to be exposed to excellent artworks and the discovery of talent to open up a new generation in Aomori City where is the home to many block printmakers including Shiko Munakata and has been nurturing the block printing culture for a long time.

Eligible Artworks Block printings (printed materials)

Eligible Applicants All nationality and ages

Application Requirements ①Only the artworks created in or after January, 2018 and not been presented to the public are eligible. ②They must be within 200 cm x 200 cm in size (including the frame), and 15kg or under in weight (including the frame). If they are framed, the thickness of the frame must be 20cm or less, yet they can be either framed or unframed. Also, acrylic printing is eligible as well. *The artworks must to be ready to hang on the wall. ③Affix the Submission Slip on the upper right hand corner on the back of the frame so that we can tell which way is the top. (Also affix the Submission Slip on the shipper box.)④Make sure to send one piece per package. If artworks of multiple artists are sent in one package, none will be considered eligible.

Application Fee 3,000 yen per artwork. *No application fee is refundable regardless of reasons.

How to Apply (Enter)Pay the application fee to the bank account shown below, and send the photocopy of the bank transfer slip together with the application documents (1 - Application Form, 2 - Receipt of the Artwork, and 3 - Result Report) by postal mail during the application period. The applicants are responsible forthe bank transfer fee. Once we receive them, we will send you the Receipt of the artwork by e-mail or postal mail. And the result will be notified by e-mail or postal mail. If you want to receive the “Receipt of the Artwork” and “Result Report” by postal mail, also enclose two (2) self-addressed (specify the name/address in the front and the name of the artwork in the back) and stamped (84-yen stamps) envelopes.

*Artworks will not be deemed eligible until we receive BOTH the application fee and application documents. Also, any artworks violating the application guidelines will be deemed ineligible, and the application fee will not be refunded. We will not assume the responsibility to return the artworks in case they are deemed ineligible due to the absence of the application fee and/or application documents.

Judges (random order, titles omitted)

Announcement of the ResultApplicants will be notified (by e-mail or postal mail) of the result after the completion of the evaluation in May, 2020. We will ask the grand prize and award of excellence winners for the acceptance comments for the official guidebook, and they are expected to send their comments after the receipt of the Result Report and before the deadline specified by the organizer by e-mail or postal mail. As for recognized artists, the organizer will contact them to make sure the information on the application form is correct as the brief bio will be shown in the official guidebook. *We may not be able to give the prize winners one week or so to develop the acceptance comment due to the production schedules of printed materials. Your kind cooperation will be much appreciated.

Exhibition of Winning/Recognized ArtworksPeriod: Saturday, August 1 - Sunday, August 16, 2020

Return of Artworks[Works sent from domestic locations]Winning/recognized artworks will be returned after the exhibition (within 30 days) and other artworks after the examination (within 50 days) by collect. We cannot return the artworks immediately after the exhibition. Any artworks that cannot be returned due to any reasons including unclear return addresses will be stored for a set period of time. If we do not hear from the applicants during that period, the organizer has the right to dispose the works. [Works sent form overseas locations]Be advised in advance that we will NOT return any artworks, regardless of the result, to overseas locations. All applied artworks will be the property of the organizer, and may be donated or sold for the social contribution and operation of TRIENNALE.

Others All artworks must be delivered in the boxes that are easy to open/repack, and packed in a way to avoid any damages during the transportation. While we will be most careful when handling the artworks, we will not assume any responsibility whatsoever regarding the incidental damage and the accidents/damages occurred during the transportation to/from TRIENNALE. In case the artworks need to be insured during the transportation to/from TRIENNALE or the organizer’s handling, applicants are responsible to purchase appropriate insurance policies. The result will be notified to all applicants by the Result Report by late June, 2020, and we will not answer to any inquiries on the process/criteria. Affix the Submission Slips on both the artwork/frame and box for each of the applied artworks. Applicants are responsible for all expenses in relation to the application including transportation, return, insurance and applicable taxes.The organizer has the right to take and use photos for the PR/ad initiatives, catalog, official guidebook and reference materials.
