Place of Residence: Saint Lucia
Duties and Responsibilities: To be Judge of the Commercial Division of the Court in Saint Lucia to be established in 2015;
To assist the Chairman of the Judicial Education Institute of the Supreme Court with designing and organizing judicial education programmes for Judges of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court relevant to the conduct of commercial litigation;
To be responsible for the training of staff of the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court; To ensure the smooth succession of Judges of the High Court to further the work of the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court;
To undertake such other relevant duties as may from time to time be directed by the Chief Justice.
Contract Term:
Three (3) years or any agreed extension of the same or alternatively; appointment may be on a permanent basis in accordance with judicial appointment to the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.
Salary and Benefits
Salary:
EC$163,800.00 per annum
Travelling Allowance:
EC$8,400.00 per annum.
Entertainment Allowance:
EC$9,000.00 per annum
Tax free salary; rent free accommodation; free air passages for appointee and family from place of recruitment to Saint Lucia and return at end of appointment period; entitlement of forty-two (42) calendar days annual vacation; eligibility to participate in the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court's non-contributory Group Life and Medical Insurance Scheme; Plus any other allowances and benefits as may be provided by the Government of Saint Lucia.
Qualifications and Experience:
The suitable candidate should possess at least ten (10) years experience as a Judge in a Court within the Commonwealth which has civil jurisdiction in cross-border or international commercial cases;
OR
At least five (5) years experience as a Judge in a specialized court dealing with such cases;
OR
At least ten (10) years practice as a leading Attorney at Law specializing in litigation involving commercial cases.
Practical knowledge of Court Administration and Alternative Dispute Resolution Procedures would be a strong advantage.

THE Government of Saint Lucia is expecting funding in the amount of two million United States dollars from the World Bank towards the cost of the Geothermal Resource Development Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to hire a consultant to provide services as Global Geothermal Expert to the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology.
The Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs, Planning and Social Security now invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Individual Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services; (Curriculum Vitae, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, clients ‘references etc).
A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures for Selection of Individual Consultants method set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants Under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and Grants by World Bank Borrowers (2011). OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The objective of the assignment is for the Consultant to assist the GOSL in integrating key technical and related aspects of the project during upstream activities and provide advice on the implementation of the project throughout its various phases. The Global Geothermal Expert will work closely with the Technical Project Coordinator who will coordinate the project related activities based on oversight and input from the Global Geothermal Expert.
DURATION
The Global Geothermal Consultant is a full-time position located at the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology for a period of two (2) years from the date of the appointment to close of the project.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Consultant should have the following technical qualifications and experience:
Advanced degree in mechanical/civil engineering, preferably masters level
At least 15 years of experience in the geothermal industry, with 5 years at senior management and project management levels in both private and public sector environments
Training in at least one of the following areas: a) geoscience, b) drilling engineering c) surface (steamfield) engineering and d) power plant engineering.

Commemorative Stamp Issue 2014
SAINT LUCIA Postal Service wishes to advise of the release of its new commemorative stamp issue to mark the elevation of His Eminence, Kelvin Cardinal Edward Felix.

THE LES PITONS MEDAL (SLPM): - The Les Pitons Medal is to be awarded in any of three (3) classes (Gold, Silver, or Bronze) for long and meritorious service to Saint Lucia, tending to promote loyal public service, national welfare, or inculcating and strengthening community spirit.
