LINING InstructionsCan be from the same base fabric unprinted, or a cheaper LINING material. As it isn't printed, no need to check for wash/durability. Kind reminder, do not mix knits with wovens. If the SELF is a knit, use the same for the lining. For example, poplin with a plain weave and jersey with jersey.

04/ WHITEPAPER
The white paper written by Kornit Digital CTO, Kobi Mann, provides validated research on textile choice for fabric-based protective equipment.Referencing scientific research, and according to levels of respiratory standards and experimentation with particle filtration, the end results are influenced by the following 4 factors:01/ Fiber type (fiber/weave ratio)02/ Fabric thread count TPI (amount of threads per inch) 03/ Number of fabric layers 04/ The fit on the face (to block out entry of particles)The full document is available on Kornit Customer Support website Resource Center
Whitepaper: Filtration properties of fabric and cloth in protective face masks
In light of the Covid-19 pandemic and the limited and often contradictory information floating around regarding the protective properties of different types of fabric, we felt it was necessary to provide a detailed and focused overview of the different filtration and protective characteristics associated with each.
It’s important to state that the scope of this whitepaper is limited to the protective properties of the different fabrics and does not touch upon other important health and safety factors, such as the chemical properties of different inks and finishings that have significant impact on the overall safety of PPE, and most specifically, on protective masks.
This white paper is particularly important as the COVID-19 virus, which primarily affects the respiratory system, has caused an upsurge in the demand for face masks which have become integral in the fight against the pandemic. Unfortunately, we have also witnessed the prevalence of many inefficient and thus dangerous types of face masks.
This whitepaper aims to educate the public regarding the many factors that impact the effectiveness of cloth masks, and how to evaluate these factors to ensure optimal filtration for combating COVID-19.
Based on numerous scientific studies in this area, we have identified which fabrics are effective in providing sufficient protection against the transmission of aerosol particles.
This white paper is largely based on an article published in ACS Nano, outlining a range of particulates (atmospheric aerosol particles) sized between 10nm to 10μm – which reflect the spectrum of aerosol carriers which spread viruses and bacteria.

DTG - HOW TO SAVE YOUR FILE PROPERLYThe best way to use our patterns is by using Adobe illustrator. Best for inserting repeat designs into shapes or using "clipping mask" (clipping full image inside of a shape). The document color mode must be RGBFile > Document color mode > RGBAfter working on the Adobe Illustrator mask template, Export as PNG (Transparent, rasterize): File > Export as... > save as type: PNG > ExportThen see dialog box: File must be 300ppi and transparent for best outcome.Customers using ColorGate may leave it in PDF format, no need to export.

Adhesive sticker applied on the pallet
The cover secures the fabric in place
After print
With the star-marked pallets, an adhesive sticker must be applied on the pallet's print surface to ensure mask edges are kept flat on pallet surface.• The special adhesive should be ordered and cut to fit print area size • Pallet Adhesive sticker single unit P/N 36-STIC-0001 (recommended
quantity 5 per pallet)• We recommend ordering with single adhesive renewal liquid – single
bottle 1.5L P/N 50-STRE-0001When using pallets with magnetic frame cover, mask fabric thickness should not exceed 3 mm. This ensures the magnetic frame cover is properly securing the fabric in place. For non-woven mask fabrics dryer temperature should be set to 100°C (212°F), in order to maintain fabric properties, no wash fastness durability is needed for these type of masks

FILE PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PLEATED FLAT MASKSA few prerequisites for your design file• Transparent Background - The design file has to be with transparent
background (PNG or TIFF and saved as such)• All-over pattern - A logo or a text will be split and lose its design effect
when the accordion opens. Therefore the design should be a repeat print as shown in the illustration
• Design planning: since the print area is limited, printing all-over print on the entire face mask area is not possible. It is recommended to consider it while designing

FMO4ONLY for KNITS: Jerseys with or without spandex (lycra), Interlock. If you choose to use fabrics with more stretch, such as 4-way knits or fabrics typical for sport, we suggest reducing the overall pattern by at least 20% smaller in the width.
FMO5WOVEN: Choose the cottons typesThe pattern is to be cut on the bias (diagonal) for mechanical stretch and better drape properties. KNITS: If using knits like mentioned for FMO4, simply use the pattern and cut on the fabric straight, not on bias like for woven.
