with our teaching and learning community at the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTLT)
Summer Institute 2018.
Your contributions played a key part in the success of CTLT’s Summer Institute program, which
enjoys extremely high demand and is consistently rated as excellent in participant feedback.
For your Supporting Student Wellbeing Using Online workshop hosted on Tuesday (August 21;
1:30 – 3:30 p.m.), there were a total of 13 participants from a diverse range of disciplines in
attendance. The participants were inspired by the session to improve their teaching practices,
with many sharing tangible strategies that they plan to implement in their classrooms to
increase relevance and to build a sense of belonging. The participants especially appreciated
the “engaging examples that helped them understand how to better support student wellbeing
in the classrooms”. They also highly rated the integration of educational research in this session
(3.5/4) and felt equipped to support their own ongoing learning around this topic (3.5/4).
Please accept our sincere thanks for your collaborative commitment to teaching and learning
skills development at UBC and for effectively facilitating important discourse around supporting
student wellbeing in teaching and learning with members of our community.
