    Existing Project Studies (Year):

    Please provide a clear problem statement for this project: The Green St. Corridor Study was completed in 1998. Through the capacity analysis and accident analyses described in this report, the safety problem in the study area was found to be serious. As a result of technical analysis, a series of recommendation have been indentified for current and future mitigation. One of these recommendations is a continuous 2 way left turn lane, which is considered to be effective in reducing traffic accidents and improving the LOS. The results of the study found that safety was an overwelming problem, as the accident rates in the study area were about twice as high as the county average over the past 5 years. EUTS has examined and discussed with local and state officials the construction of continuous left turn lanes. According to state and local officials, there should be adequate right of way along the corridor to provide for a continuous turn lane. the average directional AADT was 11, 995 vehicles per day for the entire study corridor (1998)

    Project Description Narrative: Green St.- Major widening to provide a continuous 2-way left turn lane from US 60 to US 41 in Henderson.
