Overall Comments

As stated by ALS: 'Benzo(a)pyrene Toxicity Equivalent Quotient (TEQ) is the sum total of the concentration of the eight carcinogenic PAHs multiplied by their Toxicity Equivalence Factor (TEF) relative to Benzo(a)pyrene.

TEF values are provided in brackets as follows: Benz(a)anthracene (0.1), Chrysene (0.01), Benzo(b+j) & Benzo(k)fluoranthene (0.1), Benzo(a)pyrene (1.0), Indeno(1.2.3.cd)pyrene (0.1), Dibenz(a.h)anthracene (1.0),

Benzo(g.h.i)perylene (0.01). Less than LOR results for 'TEQ Zero' are treated as zero. EP074-WF: Particular samples required dilution due to the presence of high level contaminants. LOR values have been adjusted

accordingly. EP074WF: Results of QC113_12/09/14 have been confirmed by re-analysis. l EP075: 'Sum of PAH' is the sum of the USEPA 16 priority PAHs.'

LCS recovery of vinyl chloride was greater (125%) than the upper quality control limit (123%). This is not expected to affect the validity of these results as exceedence from acceptable criteria is marginal (2%).

Furthermore, MS and surrogate recoveries for vinyl chloride are within quality objectives.

MS recovery of 1.1-dichloroethene and trichloroethene not determined in sample BP60_06.00_12/09/14, background level greater than or equal to 4x spike level.

FD RPDs of cis-1.2-dichloroethene and chloroform of primary sample BP60_28.00_12/09/14 are outside of quality objectives. This is not expected to affect the validity of these results, as LCS, MS, Surrogate and other

FD/FT RPDs of this analyte are within quality objectives. As a conservative measure, the highest value will be adopted for interpretative purposes.

Surrogate recovey of toluene-D8 in samples BP114_06.00_10/09/14, BP114_20.00_10/09/14, WG234I_10/09/14 & BP89_12.00_11/09/14 is equal (127%) to the data quality objective (127%). This is not expected to

affect the validity of these results.

FT RPD of 1.2-dichloroethane of primary sample BP60_04.00_12/09/14 is outside of quality objectives. This may be due to different techniquesused for the two laboratories and is not expected to affect the quality of

this data. As a conservative measure, the highest value will be adopted for interpretative purposes.

Overall Comments

As stated by ALS: 'EP074WF: Positive results of QC118_15/09/14 have been confirmed by re-analysis. EP074WF:Particular samples required dilution due to the presence of high level contaminants. LOR values

have been adjusted accordingly.'

LCS recovery of 1.1.1.2-tetrachloroethane (81.2%) and dibromochloromethane (79.2%) lower than lower quality objective (82.6% & 80.4% respectively) in sample WG233I_15/09/14. This is not expected to affect the

validity of these results, as exceedence from acceptable criteria was marginal (>1.5% for both analytes). Furthermore, MS & Surrogate recoveries of these analytes and other halogenated aliphatic compounds and

tirhalomethanes were within laboratory based quality objectives.

FD RPDs of 1.1-Dichloroethene & 1.1-Dichloroethane (39.1% & 38.8%) exceed the quality objective (30%) for primary sample BP59_08.00_15/09/14. This is not expected to affect the validity of this batch as

exceedence was marginal (9%). Furthermore, MS, LCS and surrogate recovery of these analytes are within laboratory quality objectives. As a conservative measure, the highest value will be used for interperative

purposes.

FT RPDs of Vinyl chloride (48%) & 1.1-dichloroethane (62%) exceed the quality objective (30%) for primary sample BP59_08.00_15/09/14.This may be due to different techniques used by the two laboratories and is

not exected to affect the validity of this batch. As a conservative measure, the highest value will be used for interperative purposes.
