WhatisthegeneralstructureoftheCoordinators’ExecutiveCommittee?TheCoordinators'ExecutiveCommitteewillconsistofthreeat-largemembers(servingthreeyearterms),oneChair-Elect,oneChairandoneImmediatePastChair(servingacombinedthreeyearterm,withaoneyeartermineachposition).TheCoordinators'ExecutiveCommitteemembersareelectedbytheCoordinators'Sectionmembership.ACoordinatormustbeamemberoftheAPPDduringthecallfornominationstobeconsidered.AnyAPPDmembermaynominateacoordinator,oracoordinatormaynominatethemselvestoserveontheExecutiveCommittee.Ifforanyreasononceelectedanexecutivecommitteemembercannotfulfilltheelectedterm,theCoordinators'ExecutiveCommitteemayappointacommitteememberwithapprovaloftheAPPDBoard.ThecommitteepersonvacatingtheirpositionwillnotifytheChairoftheCoordinators'ExecutiveCommittee,whointurnwillnotifytheExecutiveDirectorthatavacancywilloccur.Annually,theCoordinators'ExecutiveCommitteewillidentifytheskillsetsandknowledgedesiredtofillopenpositionsontheExecutiveCommittee.Inadditiontohelpingleadspecifictasks/programs,itisexpectedthattheExecutiveCommitteewilldelegatetomemberswithinthesectionleadershipprojectstobecarriedoutundertheExecutiveCommittees'supervision.ExecutiveCommitteeworkwillbeguidedbytheAPPDStrategicPlan.WhatarethedutiesandresponsibilitiesoftheCoordinators’ExecutiveCommittee?
Chair,Coordinators’ExecutiveCommittee
TheChairshallpreparetheagendaforandpresideatthemeetingsoftheCoordinators'ExecutiveCommitteeoftheAPPD.Inaddition,theChairshallberesponsibleforworkingwithsectionmembersthroughouttheyearwithconcernsofandopportunitiesfortheSection.TheChairshallbeanexcellentcommunicator,workingcloselywiththeAPPDPresidentordesigneeandExecutive/AssociateDirector,inadditiontotheExecutiveCommitteemembers,membersofthecoordinatorssectionsandallAPPDmembers.TheChairwillhavethefollowingroles/responsibilities:
• EnsureconferencecallswiththeCoordinatorsExecutiveCommitteeoccurmonthlyandthatminutesaresentwithintwoweekstotheAPPDBoard
• Assumeresponsibilityforbi-annualreportingtotheAPPDBoard;andothertimesasrequested.

• ChairCoordinators'meetingsduringtheAPPDAnnualSpringMeeting• Provideoversightforgrassrootssessionsandotherkeycomponentsofthespringand

• CommunicationofKeyissuesandstrategicrecommendationstotheBoard• AssumeresponsibilityforpresentationstotheBoard,ifrequested.

TheAPPDhasfivemaintaskforcesthatfocusonareasaslistedbelow.APPDmembersarewelcometojoinataskforce-thereisnoadditionalfee,requirement,orspecificskillneeded.Joininataskforceduringtheannualmeeting,orcontacttheleadershipbelowforongoingactivitiesbetweenmeetingstogetinvolved.AssessmentTaskForceTheAPPDAssessmentTaskForceischargedwith:a)understandingtheneedsofAPPDmembershipinthedomainoflearner,facultyandprogramassessmentandb)communicatingtoAPPDleadershipproposedareasofdevelopmentofassessmentinstrumentsandprocedures.Aswell,theTaskForcewillserveasagroupofcontentexperts(programdirectorsandleaders)whoassistpediatricprogramsinimprovingandimplementingtheirassessmentprocedures.Suchproceduresmayincludeassessmentandfeedbacktoindividualtraineesandfaculty,aswellasevaluatingcurricularorprogrammaticactivities.

CurriculumTaskForceTheAPPDCurriculumTaskForceischargedwith:a)understandingtheneedsoftheAPPDmembershipinthedomainofcurriculumandb)communicatingtoAPPDleadershipwaysinwhichAPPDcantakealeadroleinpromotinganddevelopingtrainingcurriculathatmeetRRCrequirements,prepareresidentsforcertificationand,mostimportantly,reflectthecurrentneedsofchildreninoursociety.Aswell,thisTaskForcewillalsoserveasagroupofcontentexperts(programdirectorsandleaders)whoassistPediatricprogramsinimprovingandimplementingcurriculum,includingproposingtotheAPPDleadershipaninfrastructureforcurriculumdevelopment.FacultyandProfessionalDevelopmentTheAPPDFacultyandProfessionalDevelopmentTaskForceischargedwith:a)understandingtheneedsoftheAPPDmembershipinthedomainoffacultydevelopmentandb)communicatingtotheAPPDleadershipproposedareasofmeetingprogramming,andcurricularmaterialsthataddresstheAPPDmembership(Programdirectorsandleaders)needsregardingprofessionaldevelopment.Theseareasofprofessionaldevelopmentmayincludefacultyteachingskills,forexample.LearningTechnologyTheAPPDLearningTechnologyTaskForceischargedwith:a)understandingtheneedsoftheAPPDmembershipinthedomainoftechnology;b)identifyingandevaluatingtechnology,includingsoftware,computers,personaldigitalassistants,telecommunicationdevices,andwirelesstechnologies;and,c)communicatingtotheAPPDleadershiprecommendationsfortechnologysolutionsforAPPDmembers(ProgramDirectorsandleaders).Ascontentexperts,membersoftheAPPDLearningTechnologyTaskForcewillbecalledupontoworkcollaborativelyacrossallAPPDtaskforcegroupstoadviseandassureintegrationoftechnology.ResearchandScholarshipTheAPPDResearchandScholarshipTaskForceischargedwith:a)understandingtheneedsoftheAPPDmembershipinthedomainsofresearchandscholarship;b)supportingtheAPPD'sorganizationalprocessesandproceduresthatpromoteandsupportAPPDmemberresearchandscholarship;and,c)informingtheAPPDleadershipregardingwaysinwhichresearchandscholarshipcanbesupportedforallAPPDmembers(ProgramDirectorsandleaders).ListofTaskForceChairshttps://www.appd.org/activities/taskforce.cfm
