Introduction

This document explains the PDM module on Apparel and Footwear.

1. Product Data Management From the Menu go to: Apparel and Footwear → Master Data → Product Data Management

The product data management module manages all information about the conception, design

and data repository of a product within the company. Is a collaborative tool used to enter, review

and share elements related to a style or raw materials.

To a Style con be added specifications, images, material list, constructions details, dimensions,

cost of design and management of samples

All this data can be accessed by internal users (designers department,) collaborating along the

product lifecycle. When managing styles, it can link multiple images and colors as well as scale

types

1.1 Find a Product

In order to find a Style, it’s possible to filter from any field. It can be done using search (*) and then Find.

It displays all list of Styles with the search applied, then select the style.

1.2 Create a Product

From the Menu go to: Apparel and Footwear → Master Data → Product Data Management Select the Option “Create” from SAP.

1.2.1 Product Fields

The following are the main fields of this module:

• Document numbering. Select type of product to generate sequential Style Code.

• Code: Code completed manually, Customer code for Product code.

• Description: In this field, you must enter a minimal description of the product. The character

limit for this field is 254.

• Product Line: Use this field to select from a dropdown list of available product lines (for the

generation of product lines to see the menu option Apparel & Footwear → Administration

→ Inventory → Product Lines).

• Segmentation: Use this field to select from a dropdown list of items available segmentations

• SAP Item Group: Use this field to select from a dropdown list of item groups available in SAP

Business One

• Main Warehouse: Use this field to select from a drop-down list one of the warehouses

available in SAP Business One

• Active checkbox: Using this selection box you can activate or deactivate the selected

product; it indicates whether the style is active. Select this option if you don’t want the

product to be selected in any process.

• Raw Material checkbox: Check this option if the Product created is a raw material to

manufacture a finish product

• Product images:

Select the camera icon ( ) to add an image to style

Select the camera icon ( ) to remove the selected image style

If you want to access all the product images, use the browsers ( )

• Colors Tab: if the Product has Colors, select a color from the color library.

To access the library to add, delete or

change colors go to Apparel & Footwear → Master Data → Color Master.

• Scales Tab: Add to a style Multiples scale types and sizes. To access the scale master,

go to Apparel & Footwear → Master Data → Scale Master.

• Design and Concepts:

Designers and marketing department employees can work from concept (storyboards),

drawings and everything related to the creative phase, managing documents and changes.

Link PDFs, word documents, images etc. Designers always have the option to open and

manage illustrator (or any other design tool) files.

1.2.2 Create sku’s After creating the Product and completed all details, proceed to create the skus code. This code allows to control the stock, create purchase order or manufacturing order for each combination of product – color- size. Select the option: Generate sku’s.

From this option complete further details such us Unit of Measure, and save the information.

1.2.3 PDM: Additional Functionalities

✓ Copy Styles

The user can create new styles by copying existing styles basic information in the database. Select "Copy From." Then choose the desired style.

✓ Duplicate Styles

The user can duplicate any style by click on ‘Duplicate’ option.

✓ SKU Code List

After generate SKUs, right click on Product Data Management window and click on the SKU code list to views the list of created SKUs.

✓ Document List

To view all the marketing documents created of a specific style, right click on the Product Data Management window and click on document list
