1. UCheck Plus for Student
1.1. Introduction
Ucheck is a location-based Native application that works with Bluetooth Beacon which is
installed in the classroom to provide electronic attendance and a variety of additional
service, available on android and IOS.
1.2. Supported devices
Android : Android Smartphone that supports native Android SDK 4.3version and
up, Bluetooth 4.0 BLE, GPS, 3G/LTE, WIFI, or some Android Tablet computers
with phone calling features
iOS : iPhone4S an later.
[Note1] Ucheck is not available for other OS such as BlackBerry, Windows Mobile,
SIMBIAN, BADA, Tizen etc.
[Note 2] If the device is rooted, jailbroken, or the OS has been modified, Ucheck
might not be available. 기기가 Rooting 혹은 Jailbreaking된 경우, 혹은 변조된
OS등의 경우 지원되지 않을 수 있습니다.
1.3. How to install the Application
Android : Search “Ucheck Plus” and download from Google PlayStore
iOS : Search “Ucheck Plus” and download from AppStore
[Note 1] Ucheck may not be searched from unsupported devices.

1.4. First run & User’s University registration
This is for register user’s University when its first run. When the University is
registered, it will stored in the device to use constantly and will not be asked
unless the user initializates.
① [Figure 1] The app verifies the device and initializes. If the Bluetooth is turned off,
activates it.
② [Figure 2] If user’s university information is not registered, the university
registration screen will automatically appear. To register, choose your university
from the list below or search at search box, click “register” button below. When
input university at search box, the list of universities that contains contents that
input will expose.
[Note] Due to Google's enhanced security policy, for Android 6.0 Marshmallow
and above, some features are forced to revalidate users at run time. UCheck Plus
requires location rights for the terminal scan, and upon execution, requests
location rights from the user.

This notification will only appear once with an Android 6.0 over on non-permitted
access device, if the device is already permitted the app to access, it will not
show up. If the user declines, the app will be shutdown with notification. If
decline, you will be asked again when you restart the app.
If you check the “Do not ask me again” check box, you will not be able to run the
app, so please be careful because you have to delete it and re-install it or
manually allow permissions on settings menu of device.
UCheck Plus does not collect or track any of your location data without
permission

1.5. Login screen
① If the student information is not registered or the login timed out,
student registration screen will appear automatically. After filling
in the ID and password, user can log in with press the [Student
Identification] button at the bottom left. To log in, user must agree
to privacy collection agreement.
② If you make a mistake in choosing a university, you can reset it to
the initial state through the [App Initialize] button on the bottom right
and try again.
③ If you changed mobile phone, you can ask for the permission of device change to
the person in charge through the [device change request] button at the bottom
center.
(You can also request changing device on the settings menu)
[Note] You can only log in and check attendance normally on the mobile device
that you initially logged-in, If your device is changed due to a mistake or a
change of mobile phone, or if you have logged in from two or more mobile
phones, you will need to apply for device change through [Change Phone]
button and contact the person in charge of Ucheck to confirm your identity,
and initialize certification.

1.6. Screens and Interfaces
The above screen is the initial attendance check screen, which is a HOME
screen In this chapter, the overall interface will be described, taking
attendance check screen as an example
.
1. Tab Bar
Displays the current screen position.(Always visible.)
: Toggle the slide menu on the left.
: Refresh current screen.
2. User Infromation bar

Displays the name, student number, day of the week, date and time of
the currently logged in Timer, user-supplied parking information of
logged-in user.
In some menu, they may not be exposed.
3. Contents title bar
Displays the title of the current content area.
In some menu, it may not be exposed.
4. Content area
This area displays contents for every menu.
(From the Figure above, there is a list of today's lectures that students will
attend)

5. Slide Menu
It is slide menu which user can toggle with pressing the button ( ) of the
tab bar.
On Android, you can also toggle through the menu button of the device or by
swiping the screen.
You can move to most screens through the slide menu.
When selecting the telephone inquiry area, inquiry call will be made to the
correspond university.

6. Footer Bar
It is displayed at the bottom of the screen and contains the name of the
currently connected university.
In some menu, it may not be exposed.
: Move to home(attendance check screen)
: Move to settings. On the iPhone, settings screen is on the bottom when
expand the slide from left.
1.7. Attendance Check
Attendance check screen which is the home screen of UCheck Plus,is the
first screen that appears after login when you running the app.
You can move to this screen at any time with the left slide menu or the
button of footer bar.

It performs a new version check of your app to inform users update if
there is a newer version. There are mandatory updates that must be
updated and optional updates that allow the user to decide whether to
update.
It is implemented to reduce server load by using the list of student's
course once receiving and storing it from server and inside the app.
If a change is made with the list of existing courses, or if you press
the Refresh button on the tab bar to refresh, the list is updated again.
[Note] If it is set to block mobile phones that are not opened through the
management program according to the school-specific policy, you can not
proceed anymore.
① In [Figure 1], a list of courses for a day which logged-in student have to check
attendance is displayed, and the closest scheduled course to the current time of
the device is automatically scrolled to the top.
The lecture name, lecture type, professor's name, check-out check status,
lecture real name, and lecture time range for each courses will be displayed.
When the item is selected, it is expanded as shown in [Figure 2]
,and displays buttons for attendance check.
If the other cell is opened except for the previously selected row, the cell
will be closed.
On the expanded screen, attendance allowance range, lateness
allowance range and leaving check(only for those courses that allow
leaving during the class) buttons are displayed
There are four types of attendance check buttons at the bottom.

1.8. Attendance check
Attendance allowance and lateness allowance Time are set as modified by
the management program.
For example, if the lecture starts at 9:00, and the attendance allowance
time is set to 10 minutes, the lateness allowance time is set to 20
minutes, user can check attendance between 8:50 and 9:10, and it will be
counted as lateness in 9:10 ~ 9:30
There are four functions in attendance check: attendance check, mid-term
check, leaving check, and attendance verification. If you press the
corresponding button, a new pop-up is activated to perform attendance
verification.
[Note 1] Attendance time is set based on server time, so there may be
different from the time of user’s device. Please wait a moment if you
can not apply for attendance right away.
[Note 2] When canceling the location authorization or disabling the location
(GPS) function on a device running Android 6.0 or up, the app cannot search
the device so that attendance check will not be performed.

1. Attendance check
Perform attendance checks to determine attendance, lateness, or absence.
The app searches for the device to verification, and count the users
who have been successfully verified as attendance.
If a course needs leaving check as well, it will send an result popup
and push message to the user to alarm.
To prevent fraudulent attendance, the data transmitted about attendance is
encrypted.
2. Mid-term check
Mid-term check is a function that can check attendance at any time. It
is designated by professor during class by necessity.
It may not be used depending on the lecture.
3. Leaving check
As with the attendance check, students who are within the allowance
time and who have successfully completed attendance check can check
leaving.
Whether or not to use the leaving check can select in the management
program. Courses that use the leaving check will be marked “ON” in
the course and the font color will be changed. Students who checked

attendance are informed that the course needs leaving check with a pop-
up message and a push message.
It may not be used depending on the lecture.
4. Attendance verification
The attendance verification is a method of checking the attendance
directly by inputting the verification code which is informed by the
professor or assistant.
This is a method of checking attendance that can be applied when a
student who has an old mobile device that can not searched by the app
or the classroom is unableto use attendance check function.
5. Retransmission function If there is attendance data that has been successfully verified, but has not
been transmitted to the server due to an error of telecommunication
environment, the information is stored in an encrypted state in the device,
and will be retransmitted to check attendance when the telecommunication
environment is better.

1.9. Attendance and timetable Inquiry
User can make a timetable of the week, inquiry of the attendance and
objection in this screen.
You can enter this screen through slide menu.
1. Timetable inquiry
You can check the schedule of all your courses for one week.
Courses are aligned by weekday in the timetable grouped by day at the top
of the screen.
For example, if today is Tuesday, it will be sorted in order of tue-> wed ->
thu -> fri -> sat -> sun -> mon.

2. Attendance inquiry
If you select each course in the timetable, you can view the attendance
status of the course.
On the Attendance inquiry screen, you check the attendance status, check
time, and objection status of each week for each course.
As shown in [Figure 1], you can tap the top icon to filter the data only
you want to see.

3. Objection
If there is an objection to the result of the attendance check, the user
can select the corresponding course on the atendance inquiry screen to
request an objection.
If there is no objection, [Figure 1] Objection input screen. If there is
an objection is in progress or processed, [Figure 3] Objection
confirmation screen is shown.
[Note 1] You can not make an objection of the courses that have been
closed or canceled.
[Note 2] objection for attendance is not processed immediately, it is
finalized after approved by the person in charge.
[Note 3] A list of reason for objection can be arbitrarily designated by
the administrator through the management program according to the school
policy.

1.10. Attendance inquiry for special lectures
This is a screen where you can check the attendance status of the user for
non-regular special lectures held at an unspecified time.
The overall UI and function are same as attendance check and the
attendance inquiry screen, and the date information of special lectures is
additionally displayed.
[Figure 2] You can not make an objection for result of attendance to the
special Lectures, The menu is only for inquiry.

1.11. Clicker
It is a multiple-choice test formed interactive tool in which the professor makes a
quiz during the class and the student selects and sends the answer to the quiz.
After selecting the lecture that uses Clicker in [Figure 1], In [Figure
2], user can select the answer between 1 ~ 9.
Clicker can be used up to 5 times in one lecture.
[Note] It is available only in courses that are set to use Clicker.

1.12. PopQuiz
It is an essay type of interactive test tool in which the professor makes
a quiz during the lecture and the student enters and sends the answer.
After selecting the lecture that uses PopQuiz in [Figure 1], user can
input the answer to the quiz in [Figure 2] and send it with pressing
[Registration] button.
[Note] It is available only in courses that are set to use Popquiz.

1.13. Notices
In this menu you can view the list and contents of the notices you have received.
You can enter this me from the slide menu on the left.
New notice will be posted with white backgrounds, and notices that user
have already read will be posted with gray backgrounds.
You can check the announcement details by selecting each notice.
Besides, it includes the function to notify the user through a push
message when a new notification is received.

1.14. Settings
This menu provides phone change request or app initialization function
You can enter this menu through the slide menu or the button on the
lower footer bar.
1. Application for device change
You can apply through the [Device Change Request] button at the bottom.
If the your mobile phone is changed, new phone must be authorized by the
person in charge of change the through [Phone Change Request] menu.
Once your phone is authorized, you will be able to log in again with your
new mobile phone.
2. App Initialization
It can be executed through the [App Initialization] button.
It clears all of data stored on your phone and returns the app to its
initial state.
You will need to reset your university and login information.
[Note] If you try to login from two or more devices, or if your
authorized device has been replaced by changing your phone number or your
[Figure 1]

device, you need to apply for the device change after initializing the
app.

You can see frequently asked questions and answers in this menu.
You can enter this menu from the slide menu on the left.
There are answers to a variety of questions or suggest ways to deal with
common problems here.
It is built on the web and can be updated from time to time.

1.16. Home page
You can access the web-based attendance management system by selecting
the [homepage] from the slide menu. You will be automatically logged in with
your current logged in user information.
You can use the same attendance check, attendance confirmation and
objection, function just like when you connect to the web-based
attendance management system described below.

1.17. Attendance check test
This function tests whether the user's device can search for an
attendance check device.
You can enter this menu from the left slide menu.
Every classroom that supports electronic attendance check has an
electronic device and confirms that the user's device is able to search
for this device.
Select the classroom you want to test in [Figure 1] and click the [Start]
button.
In [Figure 2] if the attendance terminal is not seached, follow the
instructions on the screen.
If the device is not searched or is not searched for a certain time, it
stops searching the terminal.

1.18. Multilingual support
UCheck Plus offers multilingual features.
Depending on the user's device language setting, the language of the app
will automatically change to that language.
We currently support Korean and English, and can be added as needed.

2. Web-based attendance management system
2.1. Log-in
Here, user can log in to use attendance management system or mobile
Select the red combo box at the top, select [student], enter your ID and
password, and click the [Login] button to log in.
[Note] You will be automatically logged in when you enter through the
[Homepage] menu on the slide menu of the student app.

2.2. Screen Introduction
Here describes the overall screens and menus of the Web-based attendance
management system.
① University logo: Here the university logo is exposed. When you click this it moves to the home screen when selected.
② Account Information: When selected, the account information that is currently logged in and the button to log out are exposed.
③ Screen setting: When selected, the window for specifying the screen language setting and color theme is exposed. There are Korean and
English, and the 12 color themes.
④ Main Menu Area: Menu Group ⑤ Content area: It is the area where the information of the currently clicked
menu or the dashboard is displayed. Dashboards are created every time
you open a menu in a tabbed form, so you can switch tabs easily.

2.3. Application and inquiry of attendance
You can enter through the left-side application menu.
You can see the details of the attendance status of each lecture and make an
objection to the professor about "lateness" and "absence".
The outputs are displayed in order of time and sequential order.
① Filtering by lecture: This is a filter that can be viewed only for a specific lecture at a university.
② Filtering by objection status: Filter by objection status. ③ Objection button: Opens the objection window for the lecture.

2.3.1. Objection
In the objection window opened with the objection button, write down the
content and the reason for objection , and if there is an attached file,
select the attached file with the file select button.
If you press the Save button, the objection will be accepted and will be
processed after the professor confirms.

2.4. Notice
Select [Notice] on the left of objection menu to enter.
You can check the school's notices.
You can use the search methods of upper red box to sort notices by title or
start or end date.
The page navigator located in the bottom red box allows you to move a page
you want to move, or adjust the number of posts to display on one screen.

2.5. Course Annoucements
You can enter this page through the left menu.
You can check the announcements related to supplementary lessons, canceling,
and other things of courses.
The overall UI is the same as the Notice menu, and can be viewed by filters
of courses, notification type, title, or content in the red box.
If you click the title of the courses, you can check the announcement of each course
details.

2.6. Attendance authorization request
You can apply for attendance authorization for a certain period of time.
If you click the processing status, you can check the existing application.
Through the red box menu at the bottom you can add, delete, refresh attendance
recognition application.
Select the reason, period, and attached file and click the Save button to
register.
Please wait for confirmation of person in charge for processing.

2.7. Device change request
If authorized device is not available because of changes of device, phone
number, loss, or damage, you can apply for device change here.
If you already made an application of device change you can check the
processing status and date of processing and can cancel through the cancel
button.

3. Trouble Shooting
3.1. If you choose your college incorrectly when login
- App initialization
Please reset it by clicking the [App initialization] button on the login
screen/setting screen, or delete it and re-install the app, then try again.
3.2. If you can not log in
- “ You can not register more than one account with one mobile phone.” You have attempted to register with multiple IDs on one device. To prevent
attendance, only one ID can be registered for one device.
- “This is not an authorized mobile phone.”
You tried logging in on your device with ID that was authorized by another device.
Please log in with your authorized device.
- “Please check your ID and password again.”
Username or password is incorrect. Please check you input your ID and Password
correctly, and your university is selected correctly.
3.3. If attendance is not checked
- Checking the device status
Make sure the Bluetooth function is turned on. On android, it will be turned on
automatically when you run the app, but on iOS, it must be turned on manually.
If you're using Android 6.0 or up, you'll need to authorize the app at the first time
you launch your app, and your GPS must be turned on.
There may be a problem with device memory or crashes between apps. Try

restarting the device.
UCheck Plus has a built-in function to test an attendance check device.
From the slide menu on the left, select the Attendance Test menu and test.
3.4. If you get a message that the connection is unstable
- Check your internet connection
Make sure that you can use the Internet properly with 3G / LTE or WIFI.
Try again where network communication is better.
3.5. When you can not objection from "lateness" or "absence"
- Confirm the application period of objection
The period for application is fixed for each university due to its policy.
Please try to apply for objection during the application period.
3.6. Unusual screen appears in web-based attendance management
- Browser compatibility check
Older versions of Internet Explorer, including Internet Explorer 9, may
not be able to function properly due to a lack of web standards
compliance and HTML5 support.
Please use the browsers support html5 and web standards such as
Internet Explorer version 10 or higher, Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari,
and Edge.
