LEVITON WIRE MESH TECHNICAL INFORMATION ALL GRIPS DETERMINING CABLE DIAMETER An important component of grip selection is determining the cable diameter. - If all cables are the same diameter, use Tables 1a and 1b Determining Grip Diameter Range for Cables of EQUAL Diameter - If the cables within the bundle are of DIFFERENT Diameters, use Table 2 and follow the instructions for measuring cable bundle circumference. For your convenience, the following reference tables are provided:
Table 3 Use to convert cable diameter ranges from inches(fractions or decimal) to metric millimeters. Tables 4 and 5 Provide approximate values for typical flexible cord, AWG, or MCM. For One or More Cables of EQUAL Diameter Use Tables 1a and 1b to determine the Grip Diameter Range for one or more cables of equal diameter.
1. Read across tope line for number of cables in one grip. 2. Read down for diameter of EACH cable. 3. Read across line for Grip Diameter Range. Example: For 5 cables bundled together, each with a diameter of 0.42 inches:
1. Locate the 5 Cables column. 2. Read down the column and locate the individual cable diameter, 0.42 inches. The cable diameter range =
0.38 inches to 0.48 inches 3. Read across the line for the Grip Diameter Range (1.00 inches to 1.25 inches).

WIRE MESH TECHNICAL INFORMATION ALL GRIPS For One or More Cables of UNEQUAL Diameter
1. Measure the circumference of the cable bundle. a. Divide the circumference of the bundle by 3.14. This is the bundles diameter. It isnt required for Table 2 but may be needed if grip ranges overlap.
2. Read down the column, and locate the cable bundles circumference. 3. Read across the line for the Grip Diameter Range. Example: 3 cables of different individual diameters are bundled. When measured, the 3 cable bundles circumference is 6.35 inches.
1. Cable bundle circumference = 6.35 inches a. Cable bundle diameter = 2.02 inches
2. Read down decimal column and locate the cable bundle diameter, 6.35 inches. The cable diameter range = 6.29 inches to 7.86 inches. 3. Read across the line for the Grip Diameter Range (2.00 inches to 2.50 inches)
