The meeting was called to order by Board President, Mr. Gregory Primm, at 6:35 p.m. Mrs. Jennie Ivory, Board Secretary, was
requested to conduct the roll call and following same, declared a quorum present.

VI. BOARD AND SUPERINTENDENT REPORTS
A. Lenape Vocational Technical School
Mrs. Wenckowski’s report included comments from the March 21 JOC Meeting
Budget meetings continue with the goal of presenting the budget to the districts for approval at their April meetings.
Discussion of the cafeteria budget revealed a 49% free-reduced lunch population among the Lenape students.

Accepted the retirements of a business teacher and a computer information technology teacher. Will review next year
enrollment figures before posting one of the vacancies.
Approved several budget transfers and the 2019-2020 student and faculty handbooks.
Approved agreements between Lenape Adults Ed Practical Nursing Program and both the Indiana Regional Medical
Center and the Allegheny Health Network for the Phlebotomy Class.
Four Apollo-Ridge students were inducted into Lenape’s National Honor Society

o Gracie peace – Culinary Arts
o Tyler Williams – Natural Resources Tech

B. ARIN Intermediate Unit #28
The report given by Mrs. Ross of the March 19, 2019, BOD Meeting included the following approvals and authorizations:
Under new business in the area of Personnel, two retirements, two employments, one change in status and two
volunteers were discussed and acted upon.
Approved the retirement application of Mr. Dave Norris.
Approved the use of a $10,736 Education for Children & Youth Experiencing Homelessness grant to defray program
costs for Summer Programming Initiative from July 1, 2018, through September 30, 2019.
Approved several agreements and contracts to provide technology for Evergreen After School Club; lease in Kittanning
for ARIN’s Early Intervention Program; agreement with Leader Services for a student information system; and a four-
year transportation contract with Barker Inc. effective through 2023.
Approved 2017-2018 Single Audit Report.

C. Legislation

D. Apollo-Ridge Education Foundation
Mr. Duso provided the following details on two spring events:
March 27 Hands-On STEM Donor Appreciation Reception
o Eleven programs funded by the Education Foundation will be exhibited at this hands-on showcase from 9 AM
until 11 AM on Wednesday. They include the Viking Café (students will be serving fresh hot beverages) to the
1:1 Laptop Initiative in the High School. Guests will strum a guitar, play a marimba, pot a plant, program a robot,
and solve a crime. There’s still time to RSVP by calling 724-478-6010.
April 20 BIG Spring Clean Up
o This year the Foundation is teaming up with Great American Cleanup of PA. Volunteers are asked to arrive in
the Apollo Plaza by 9:00 AM to register and be assigned.
Wear clothing appropriate for the weather and the tasks at hand
Bring tools (rakes, shovels, brooms) clearly marked with your name
Students will receive community service hours for their participation
