    thecountry.TheAPIDisnotasubstitutefora

    highschooldiplomabutratherprovidesadditionalcertificationofacademicexcellence.

    ToearnanAPID,astudentattendingaschoolwithin

    theUnitedStatesmustsendatleastoneAPGrade

    ReporttoauniversityoutsidetheUnitedStates.

    Diploma CriteriaToearnanAPID,astudentmustearngradesof3

    orhigheronatleastfiveAPExamsinthefollowing

    contentareas:

    1.TwoAPExamsfromtwodifferentlanguagesselected

    fromtheEnglishandworldlanguagesareas.*

    2.OneAPExamdesignatedasofferingaglobal

    perspective:APWorldHistory,APHuman

    Geography,orAPGovernmentandPolitics:

    Comparative.

    3.Oneexamfromthesciencesormathematics

    contentareas.

    4.Oneadditionalexamfromamonganycontentarea

    exceptEnglishandworldlanguages.

    *Astudentmaysubmitaletterfromanadministratorathisorherschool

    verifyingthestudentsmasteryofalanguagenotcurrentlyavailablewithinthe

    APsuiteofexams.Thisverification,printedonschoolletterhead,willsatisfy

    therequirementforoneAPExaminthelanguagecategory.However,astudent

    whoutilizesthisoptionmustsubmitanadditionalAPExamfromanother

    contentarea.Thus,allstudents,howevertheysatisfythetwo-examEnglish

    andworldlanguagerequirement,mustsubmitatotaloffiveAPExamgradesof

    3orhighertoqualifyfortheAPID.
