Message from APIC APIC Strategic Partner Program The Strategic Partner Program (SPP) of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) acts as a framework for industry partners in infection prevention to support APIC in its mission in a visible and transparent way. The program advances the vision of health care without infection shared by both APIC and its strategic partners. Participation by industry partners in the SPP signals their commitment to APIC, infection preventionists (IPs), and the eld of infection prevention and control. In having the formalized Strategic Partner Program for industry partners, APIC publicly recognizes industrys important and valu- able contribution to infection prevention through research and innovation and acknowledges the constructive partnership that exists between APIC and industry partners towards elevating the profession and eld of infection prevention and control. Fortied and dictated by the core values of transparency, trust, and dialogue, with a focus on patient safety, the SPP is set up to engage industry in thought leadership and leverage industry as a whole. The program encourages broader collaboration between APIC and industry and among industry partners in a non-competitive space toward continued innovation for improved patient care. The Strategic Partner Program supports the APIC mission in both transformational and practical ways. The fee structure allows industry participants to allocate a part of the dues to a program of choice from options provided by APIC. These options cover various opportunities from promotion and marketing to support of a consumer-awareness campaign and activities of member sections. Another portion of the fee funds the Competency Advancement Award program, which allows APIC to provide nancial assistance to members seeking to demonstrate core competency by obtaining Certication in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC Ò ). The re- mainder of SPP dues supports APICs ongoing commitment to underwrite or subsidize the cost of education and practice resources for members.
