! ! The Thai Red Cross Society was chosen as this year’s Best National Society in Fundraising. Based on the entry submitted, the National Society has demonstrated the following: achievement of over-all fundraising goal, efficient management of resources, good governance practices, transparency and accountability, appropriate mix of funding sources, efficient donor/donation management; over-all fundraising strategy/structure; among other assessment factors.!

Most Successful Fundraising Initiative : HKRC Face to Face Appeal!

!!! ! Hong Kong Red Cross Regular Donors Recruitment via Face to Face Appeal. Hong Kong Red Cross set up the first face-to-face (F2F) appeal team in May 2006 and they were amongst the very first few NGOs in HK setting up such team. The second and third team were then formed in 2007 and 2010 respectively. The team grew from six Resources Development Ambassadors (RDA) in 2006 to a pool of twenty in 3 teams now. !

They are full-time staff employed by HKRC and they visit different parts of Hong Kong every day, including public streets, shopping malls, bridges, MTR, exhibitions and blood donor centres, etc. to introduce the humanitarian works of the HKRC and recruit public to register as our regular giver (RG) on the spot. Currently in October 2014, the NS has over 28,000 active regular givers and over 77% of them are recruited by the F2F appeal team.!

Vietnam Red Cross Cow Fund and SMS Fundraising Campaign!

!!!!!!!! SMS Fundraising Campaign: The SMS fundraising campaign has been started from 2010 and gained the biggest achievement. That people in Central provinces had suffered huge damages caused by typhoons no 10 and 11, has frequently been updated by mass medias. As a result, this has extremely impacted to public and received people’ sharing nation-wide. In 2014, a campaign of supporting fishers in islands has drawn people’ attention nation-wide. Through medias, people will understand all difficulties, dangers and risks which fishers will face with if they are lack of means of media while being offshore.!

Cow Bank Program: The NS launched the cooperation program, “Cow Bank” for countryside development program which since June 2014, the program has been implemented in 44 cities/provinces, providing 12,139 cows to 12,139 households of 135 districts, among which 56 are poor districts, with the total value of VND 121.390 billion. After three-year implementation, more and more baby cows was born and the number of households receiving cows has been increasing.!

! ! Jan is the Deputy Fundraising Director and has been with the Thai Red Cross for more than 15 years. She focuses on over-all internal management systems including human resources, finance and accounting, logistics management, strategic planning, marketing and communications. She is also responsible for events fundraising, capital fundraising campaigns, individual giving, regulr giving and online fundraising. Jan pioneered the Direct Mail which has recruited 30,000 regular donors generating US$3M annually.!
