PERFORMANCE WEAR

APEX came about as my Final Major Project in my 4th and final year at Northumbria University, where I studied Design For Industry BA HONS.

Correct body alignment within sport is crucial in improving efficiency and accuracy as well as reducing the risk of injury. APEX was designed and created to help everyday athletes improve their body alignment.

PRECISE, PERSONAL POSITIONINGAPEX Performance Wear has been designed and built to help athletes improve their body alignment for their chosen sports. On top of this, APEX looks to give athletes the posture support they need if they are just coming back from injury.

APEX is not just a stand alone product but a brand. It is a brand which wants to help athletes experience the power of being at the top of their game. After all, a brand is so much more than the goods that they sell, and APEX is much more than just Performance Training Wear, it is the experience you feel and receive from wearing the garments.

APEX was an opportunity that arose from realizing the importance of accurate body alignment in sport. Currently, there isn’t anything on the market which helps athletes work on their positioning as easily as APEX does. APEX fuses expensive 3D body mapping technology with the freedom to exercise wherever the user wants.

Excellent body alignment is an important aspect of sport and can help increase efficiency and accuracy as well as reducing the risk of injury.

In order to bring you the best positioning support, Apex worked alongside Spearhead Interactive to develop the best technology to go into our performance wear. Cutting edge technology is fused into Apex Performance Wear to bring you the most effective and personal experience possible.

APEX uses specialist ‘Carvico’ fabrics to create our skin tight training wear. Carvico fabrics were chosen because of their 8 fundamental material properties which compliment what we stand for, at APEX.

TECHNICAL FABRICS

SHAPE RETENTIONGarments that maintain their shape and remain comfortable even after several uses, thanks to the Xtra Life LYCRA combined with the squared stretch of this fabric.

SAND RESISTANTNo annoying grains of sand between the fibers as this fabric has been made especially to keep the sand from getting under your suit.

EXCELLENT UV PROTECTIONCurb the effects of the sun. The new structure and the particular fibers used, provide exceptional sun protection: UPF 50+

EXCELLENT COVERAGECompact and covering fabric. Though featherweight and ultra flat, it provides outstanding coverage without risk of see-through.

NON CURLINGThe fabrics can be used in a variety of ways thanks to its elastic memory which keeps it from curling at the edges and making it ideal for raw cuts.

ULTRA FLAT50% thinner than a classic charmeuse, it’s like a second skin.

ULTRA CHLORINE RESISTANTFabric that maintains its elastic quality even when attacked by chlorine thanks to its innovative construction and the use of Xtra Life Lycra.

PILLING RESISTANTFabric that is always smooth and pleasant to touch. You don’t want a fabric which irritates the skin after all.



APEX Performance Wear works through the process of Ionoprinting. Tiny copper anodes woven into the ionoprinted sections of the garment become firmer once a current is passed through them, giving the athlete added support and alignment guidance in their respective sports.

The Ionprinted panels are positioned here for the APEX Running Top as it allows the user to work on their back positioning and their arm positioning, which are both key components of correct body alignment in running.


The technology used in APEX isn’t just for running, it works across a wide range of sports. APEX can help user’s with their golf swing, their tennis serve or their alignment in cycling. The technology works in exactly the same way, the positioning of the Ionoprinted panels is just different.
