From this screen you can click on date they took the quiz to see the actual questions and answers students completed c) __Reset quiz after every 2 attempts quiz will need to be reset for student to take again d) __Optional to set a due date for an assignment e) __Green is unlock, Red is lock. May lock or unlock quizzes and tests for students to take. If you use the lock icon at the top of the columns will set it for the whole class. f) __Clicking this X will set that assignment as not to be graded or count in the grade book for the whole class g) __Boxes are for Teacher graded assignments to enter the students points earned, total points possible located at the top of the column. a) ___You can add emails to send out a Student Progress Report weekly on Sunday evenings to

anyone you list their email here for each student. Could use it for parents, students, counselors, coaches, and even you as the teacher. b) __Students username c) __May use this to reset a students password then give them the temporary password displayed here

How to Add a Classroom

For ESS Teachers your classrooms will be created for you. If you have questions email [email protected].

1. On the Dashboard page click the Actions button and click Add Classroom 2. The Add Classroom dialog opens. 3. Enter name for the classroom. Use the following naming convention:

A. MVA; Independent Study

School site-Program-Teacher Lastname.F-Student Lastname.F

Example: Davis-MVA-Smith.J-Simpson.B A. TOPS; Elliott

School site-Program-Teacher Lastname.F-Course Name

Example: Elliott-Senior Success-Smith.J-Biology Core Sem 2 4. Select a Start Date for the classroom. This is a one-time setting — Start Dates cannot be

edited. 5. Use the Solution dropdown menu to locate the organization to which the new classroom will

be added. 6. Add a course to the classroom.

A. Scroll down to the Add Courses area.

B. Expand a Pathway by clicking its + icon.

C. Select courses by checking the appropriate boxes. Check with your School Site Administration for Classroom Crosswalks for matching Apex classes with Modesto City School class names.

7. Click the Save button. The Add Classroom dialog refreshes and the Edit Classroom dialog is displayed.

How to Edit the Classroom

8. To edit a classroom, on the Dashboard page cock the Expand link and then the pencil icon next to the class you would like to edit. The Edit Classroom dialog opens. From here, the following tasks may be performed:

Enter or change the classroom's name Add or remove courses, teachers, and students Apply Course Settings Create new student accounts

(registration) Copy the classroom Archive the classroom

How to Add an Assignment to the Grade Book – i.e. Study Guide You can add an assignment of your choice to the grade book. Many teachers may want to add the Apex Study Guide for the course as a graded assignment and these instructions will allow you to do this. Currently the Study Guide is an ungraded assignment. 1. In the Grade Book click on the course you could like to add the assignment to (a) then the Unit (b) and click on any of the assignments on the grade book (c)

2. Click on the Outline Manager (d) in the top right corner near the search text box

3. On the left side scroll down (e) the list and click on Appendix B: Additional Activities (f). Then click

the Add Activity button (g). 4.

4. Next in the middle of the screen you will have the New Activity to add a title (h), For example Study Guide 2.2.2, optional add a activity description (i), optional you can add a web site link to the activity (J), and give the new activity points possible (k). Next click the Save Changes button (L)
