During problem solving approach, theteacher is expected to give tasks, but itis also expected that students setproblems and situations from the tasksthat are being given. In this case, problem solving tasks comefrom some aspects that students wouldlike to do after the situations given.

The Renewable Energy Sector in Thailand in 2016

Learning situation

Over the past 13 years, electricityconsumption in the region has risen 53.7% toreach 1,234 terawatt hours (TWh) - morethan five times what is consumed in Spain -according to data from the Latin AmericanOrganization Of Energy (Olade). Demand isexpected to rise to 3,000 TWh by 2050,according to the World Energy Council (WEC).

The previous plan of renewable energy, formulateduntil 2022, stipulated that 25% of the energyconsumed in Thailand in that year came fromrenewable energy sources. The new plan, with a timehorizon of 2015-2036, represents an extensive revisionof the previous plan, with the main objective being toincrease the country's energy capacity from renewableenergy sources from 8% to 20% by 2036, which wouldimply increasing capacity Installed capacity of thealternative energy sources to 19,635 MW in 2036,being the current capacity estimates of 7,279 MW.
