Architectural description

All the buildings in the Holiday Village Anderma Re-uss are architecturally inspiring due to their individ-uality. Apartment House Edelweiss is no excep on. It stands out by virtue of its compact volume and its unusual roof geometry. Diamond-shaped surfaces are scored into the painted façade, and their wavy pat-tern gives the building a certain lightness, which is accentuated by the colour concept. Star ng from the dark base, the colour gradually lightens as it rises up the façade and then fades into the sky. The dis nc ve shu ers with chevron pa ern contrast with the curves of the broad arches that protect the entrance area and the balconies against wind and weather.

House Edelweiss is situated vis-à-vis the Go hard Res-idences and the new Radisson Blu hotel. It is built upon a subterranean infrastructure base which hous-es the underground car park and the u lity systems. The loca on, directly on the village square, gives the apartments a lot of room and light and provides views of the surrounding natural countryside. Various com-mercial spaces are planned in order to bring a lively mix to the neighbourhood.

465 m² of commercial space will be provided on the ground fl oor of House Edelweiss. On the four stories above, 15 apartments with one to three bedrooms

will be provided. The apartment layouts are designed around the needs of today’s lifestyle. At the heart of the compact and well-thought-out fl oor plans is the open living and dining area in connec on with a mod-ern open kitchen. The spacious bedrooms are private retreats. The bathrooms and u lity room with wash-er and dryer meet the high standards one expects of an alpine apartment.

Beneath the roof are two exclusive maisone es with four and fi ve bedrooms. In the living and dining area, the two levels are elegantly combined with an open gallery and extra-high windows. The heart of the low-er level is the large living and dining area with cosy fi replace. On the upper level, which can be reached direct via the main stair or elevator if desired, a gal-lery and two addi onal bedrooms with ensuite bath-rooms or shower rooms are provided.

Construction summary

EcologyHouse Edelweiss is being built and cer fi ed to the Minergie standard. All apartments feature mechani-cally controlled ven la on. The system provides con- nuous air exchange in all rooms and also serves the

following purposes: · Providing adequate fi ltered fresh air for

the occupants · Elimina on of humidity and odours · Energy savings by recovering thermal energy

from the exhaust air · Noise control for the occupants; everyone can

sleep comfortably with all windows closedEach apartment will have its own individually con-trolled ven la on system.

Construc onThe base slab, perimeter walls of the basement and underground garage and columns are in place, execut-ed in reinforced concrete. Most of the basement par- on walls are in sand-lime brick masonry.

All fl oor slabs and exterior walls above grade are in reinforced concrete to meet structural requirements and for seismic stability. Exterior walls covered with 22 cm high-quality exterior insula on and cemen - ous plaster coa ng, painted.

Interior par ons are 12.5 – 15 cm brick masonry. Separa on walls between the apartments and around the stairwell are 25 cm monolithic reinforced con-crete. Some of the walls in the living rooms and bed-rooms and behind kitchen cabinetry are executed as gypsum-covered prewalls.

Some of the conduits, pipes and ducts in the base-ment and underground garage are surface-mounted on ceiling and walls.

RoofThe roof terrace is constructed in concrete, and the main roof is framed in mber. Roof terrace build-up: vapour barrier, 18 cm high-quality insula on, water-

proofi ng membrane, separa on and protec on layer, ceramic le laid on crushed stone respec vely green-roof substrate with self-suffi cient plan ng. Main roof: mber framing with 24 cm insula on between the

ra ers. Interior build-up: vapour barrier, furring and wood panelling. Exterior build-up: rigid fi breboard, sub-roof membrane, ven la on furring, roof sheath-ing, separa on layer and standing seam metal sheet roofi ng.

Electrical systemsReceptacles, switches and wiring for lights in the usu-al quan es and as shown on plans. Exterior recepta-cle, switch and light at balconies and terrace. Built-in lights in foyers, corridors, bathrooms, toilet rooms and kitchen. One mul media outlet (TV, phone and com-puter) in each bedroom and in the living room. Each living room has at least one empty conduit for easy in-stalla on of addi onal telecom cabling. Doorbell with video doorphone at the apartment door.
