to acquaint yourself with the initial RecWeek plans

and the responsibilities of the needed core team.

very year, RecWeek proves to be a busy one-week affair filled with countless promotional materials,

which students are likely to pass through with just a glimpse.

With this said, APAIR RecWeek, through its promotions, must then aim to leave a lasting impression upon students in that one glimpse such that students may be made motivated to learn more of the organization and eventually be encouraged to join.

To do this, the team is to take on a smart advertising approach that mainly focuses not on the good design, models, text, among many other things (which other organizations can also simply do), but on how the subject of the advertisement is being presented—

which should be direct, straight to the point.

This year’s theme:

No Excuses, Be in the Know, Be Connected

The information age, for all its contributions in

communication, have seen many of its

beneficiaries still seemingly in the dark of current

happenings, even in the local context. This irony

can easily be seen even in the Philippines,

dubbed as one of the social networking capitals in

the world, where many Filipinos, youth and

otherwise, are unaware of even the top, local

issues facing the nation.

But this should not be the case—with the many,

various mass media from where information can

easily be accessed, there is no excuse to be the

least bit informed and to be uninvolved, separate

from the story of the world.

CORE TEAM STRUCTURE

(1 head, 4 members)

o the master brainstormer behind the project

team, who brings out APAIR to the crowd by

overseeing the creation and implementation of

the different promo materials and strategies

o takes souvenir RecWeek photos to be posted on

the APAIR Facebook page

(1 head, 4 members)

o makes sure that all expenses from activities and

preparation done are in check and in

accordance with the budget of the project team

o oversees that the org has enough to go all out

and ever-ready for RecWeek through innovative

fundraisers

a. Materials & Venues

(1 head, 1 deputy)

o prepares and handles the RecWeek booth and

materials, plus makes sure that the booth is as

creative and attention-grabber as it can be, no

longer just a place in time, but also a

promotional material in itself

o also makes sure that there is a good supply of

rooms for the most awaited member interviews

B. Human Resources (1 head*)

o HR Head – supervises and trains the manpower

of the project-team during and post-RecWeek for

maximum efficiency

o dedicatedly sees to the following:

creating the member registration and

interview schedule database

making sure that every RecWeek shift

has 2 well-oriented booth volunteers and

rovers each

* The project team members and EB will be the

booth volunteers and/or rovers themselves; hence

the only position to be applied for is HR head.

May 22-June 15 Promotions + Materials & Venues

Prepare all promotional materials (and print when approved).

May 22-June 15 Finance Coordinate with Promotions and Logistics about possible expenses. Finalize the fundraisers to implement, as well as specifics (e.g., recipes, who to include in the human auction).

May 30 Materials & Venues

First submission of equipment declaration form.

May 30 Promotions & Documentations

First submission of the promos template form and promotional materials.

June 13 Promotions & Documentations

Final submission of template form & promotional materials (for revisions, if any).

June 16 Promotions & Documentations

Release of teasers/countdown.

June 17 Materials & Venues

Reserve venues for member interviews.

June 16-22 HR Assign booth and rover shifts.

June 18-22 Finance + Other Committees

Prepare the goods for bake sale. Release ads introducing the human auction.

June 23 Promotions & Documentations

Release of official promotional materials (main promo poster as well as video).

June 23-28 Finance Start accepting bids for the Human Auction. Sell the baked goods.

June 23-28 HR Orient booth volunteers and rovers on what to say to interested applicants. Create excel for member registration.

July 14-15 All Meeting for evaluations (after member interviews).
