Essay must include not only that document is bias, but why it is bias. For example, Doc. J is from St. Cyprian, the Bishop of Carthage in Northern Africa. Cyprian was Bishop during the time of the Christian schism in that area and looked to as an anti-semitic writer.

6) Analyzes documents by grouping them in one or two ways.

For example, documents may be grouped by economic, political, religious, or social systems. Also, Classical v. Late Classical periods may be used as a grouping methodology.

Mediterranean cross-cultural exchange by means of conquest, trade, and invasion should all be included. German invasion and settlement of border regions in the Roman Empire, development of wet rice agriculture and iron metallurgy from China to Japan, Japanese bureaucracy, the adoption of Shinto and Buddhism following the collapse of the Han, and the Kingdoms of Axum and Ghana may all be used as relevant examples.
