Once you know the solute concentration, you can calculate solute potential using the following formula:
Solute potential (s) = –iCRT
• i = the number of particles the molecule will make in water– ex. NaCl = 2– ex. Sucrose or Glucose = 1
• C = molar concentration (from your experimental data graph)
• R = pressure constant = 0.0831 L bar/mole K• T - temp in degrees Kelvin = 273 + oC of solution
