To achieve the goal of imparting quality education and also to instill
confidence in the minds of students, the whole edifice of the academic
system is based on the tripod of (I) Attendance, (ii) Teaching-
Learning & Counselling Process and (iii) Academic Integrity.
Comprehensive Academic System
Every individual student, faculty and staff of Academy of Technology believes
that unfair examination system, whether it is home assignment, internal
examination or university examination, is the ultimate violation of academic
integrity. It is an already established fact that our examination system which is
conducted with utmost integrity makes our students hardworking and
motivated, and thus enables them to get right placement and/ or opportunity
of higher studies through competitive examinations.
Regular class attendance is fundamental to the orderly acquisition of
knowledge. In Academy, utmost importance is given to regular class
attendance which is a responsibility and a prerequisite of engineering
education. Students should recognize the advantages of regular class
attendance, accept it as a personal responsibility and apprise
themselves of the consequence of poor attendance. Minimum 75%
attendance in all papers is mandatory for appearing in University
Examination as well as in Internal Examination.
Academy of Technology regulates the teaching-learning & counselling
process using the following comprehensive methods:
Orientation Programme for Educators | Course Delivery in Comprehensive
Manner with Proper Teaching Plan | Attendance Monitoring & Improvement
Measures | Counselling & Mentoring Weaker and Wayward Students |
Continuous Assessment and Appraisal.
Academic Integrity
Attendance
Teaching-Learning & Counselling Process
11
Internship programme for every student in government & private organisations, seminars,
industrial visits, invited lectures and national/ international conferences are organized on a
regular basis to enhance professional competence of students.
Academy of Technology organized the 2nd International Conference on Computer,
Communication, Control and Information Technology (C3IT) on 25th & 26th February, 2012.
Mr. Amit Chatterjee, Managing Director, Microsoft India was the chief guest.
Professional Exposure Beyond Curriculum
Performance is always the result of intelligent planning, focused efforts and commitment to
excellence. Steady improvement in university result of students due to comprehensive
teaching- learning and counselling system of AOT attests that positive change is the end result
of true learning.

Unforgettable Campus Life
Academy – where the zeal of extracurricular activities is limitless and a deep sense of belonging prevails. One
can get into everything in the community life of AOT campus.
This community brings together
s t u d e n t s w i t h d i v e r s e
backgrounds, varied preferences
and different temperaments to share a common platform
where they can showcase their talents in dance, drama,
music, songs and every other forms of performing art.
Every year community members of ARDOUR organize
ARCADIA – the most vibrant socio-cultural event of the
campus.
It is a facet of aspiring engineers of AOT to
show the world their unmatched
innovations spanning several spheres of
software, hardware and robotics. Every year
TECH-FIESTA, the State level Tech Fest of
AOT, is organized by ACUITY – the community for
technological innovations. During the national robotics
event TECHNICHE at IIT Guwahati, though defeated by
IIT Kanpur, the 2nd prize winning team, AOT defeated the
team from IIT Kharagpur.
The collective efforts of this community
on creative writing, painting, quiz,
debate, photography and other
spheres of creative performances
round the year enrich the campus life manifold.
HUMATRONICS – the annual talent search competition
and WALLZINE – the magazine published by ANALECTS
has been widely acclaimed over the years. AOT's students
won accolades in such prestigious events as NDTV Tech
Grand Master, INFOCOM national open quiz and 19-20
Crossfire.
Campus Communities
organizes dedicated and round-the-year coaching. AOT
is champion of inter-college basketball meet of WBUT
and winner of several gold and silver medals in inter-
college athletics meet of WBUT. AGILE maintains
ADROIT – the sophisticated Institute Gym which aims to
bring health awareness to AOT students.
Contributing to social causes in a
structured manner, ACCLIVITIES – the
community for NSS and Social
Service – has been an integral part of AOT over the last
two years. Members of ACCLIVITES organize NSS
activities, awareness programmes in adult education and
computer literacy and also campaigning against
pollution, tobacco, drugs and alcohol addiction and
ragging. AOT is a ragging free campus and the credit
goes to the community members of ACCLIVITIES.
The student community for games and
sports promotes different inter and intra
college competitive events in athletics,
basketball, badminton, cricket, football,
table tennis and volleyball and to give a
strong thrust in these activities AOT

Achievement is a target won by training and habituation. To make the students confident and prepare them for placement, Academy of Technology provides
every student Prolonged Training for Improvement of Placement Skills (TIPS) since 2004.
Modules of 'Training for Improvement of Placement Skills':
§ Communication Skill Development Training for desiring students who are weak in English to set a benchmark in communication.
§ Classroom Coaching for Aptitude Skill Development followed by series of on-line aptitude tests.
§ Industry compatible advanced training in Oracle Certification in collaboration with Oracle Corporation under 'Workforce Development
Programme' and .NET programming & Visual Studio in collaboration with Microsoft.
§ Additional academic inputs beyond curriculum in Software and Core regular classes for engineering subjects by faculty for Technical Test of
Campus Selection Process.
§ Grooming on GD and PI with mock interview sessions to enable the students to communicate, initiate action and live up to the expectations of
prospective employers during campus interviews.
A state-of-the-art in-campus laboratory has been set up by Honeywell under the
department of Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering for advanced
training in PLC, DCS & Virtual Instrumentation to support our AEIE, EE and ME
students during Core Engineering Placements.
In every academic session Academy of Technology arranges summer
training/internship for every pre-final year B. Tech student. For information regarding
companies where our students have done their summer training/internship during the

hardworking and motivated, and thus
enable them to achieve right placement by
their own merit. AOT's endeavor is to provide
maximum possible number of campus
interview opportunities to the students with
equal emphasis in IT and Core engineering
placement and prolonged placement
support even after graduation and we have
been successful in this mission from the very
1st batch. Since 2007, an enviable
percentage of AOT’s students have been
recruited by 155 renowned corporate
houses (IT: 65 & Core: 90) during campus
placement.
Academy of Technology has been accredited by Capgemini, Tata Consultancy Services and also
Tech Mahindra [Grade – A engineering college] for Campus Placement. This year AOT witnessed
remarkable campus recruitment by Tata Consultancy Services. Capgemini and Tech Mahindra
have recruited maximum number of 2012 batch students compared to any other college
affiliated to WBUT which has enabled the placement graph to touch a new height. Total 23 IT and
Core Engineering Companies have already recruited 2012 batch students with average annual
CTC of more than 3 lacs per annum. Results of a few companies are yet to be declared. Many
companies are in the pipe line.
