The musical items produced by the students provided great entertainment for the grandparents and senior citizens. (More photos later in the Bulletin). Bouquets of flowers were given to the eldest female, Mrs Edna McCosker, 95 years of age and the eldest male, Mr Don (Pa) Smith, 89 years of age. Congratulations Edna & Don! Thank you to all the families who generously provided flowers and morning tea. The staff and students would also like to thank the terrific band of helpers who set up, cleaned up and assisted with morning tea. Thank you all on a job well done! Infants Hat Parade A reminder that our Infants Hat Parade is this Thursday 11 April at 9.30am in the COLA. Each student in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 are asked to bring along a hat to wear on the day. Last year many children created and made wonderful Easter hats and paraded them around, while others preferred a crazy hat, an animal hat or a sports hat. The only limit is your imagination! (School uniform is to be worn). Parents and friends are invited to come along and watch the parade and little brothers or sisters are welcome to make their own hat and join in as well. ANZAC Day – School Ceremony Our ANZAC Day ceremony for 2019 will take place on Friday 12 April 2019 commencing at 10.00am in 4-5 and 5-6 room. Parents and community members are most welcome to attend our service. Mal Butler will be representing the Wauchope RSL Sub-Branch and speaking at the service. ANZAC Day – Wauchope Ceremony Students are invited to participate in the Wauchope town march on Tuesday April 25 2019 commencing at 10.30am. Children are asked to meet Mr Newell or Mr Small in front of the Wauchope RSL at 10.15am. (Please wear school uniform). Netball NSW Gala Day On Tuesday 20 March, 22 boys and girls from Years 5 and 6, participated in a Netball Gala day at Port Macquarie. The group made up two teams, with each team playing 4 games against other local schools. The sportsmanship, the skills, the behaviour and attitude of all our students was outstanding and both teams played their hearts out in extremely hot weather. Vol. 34. Also, on 26 March, 18 boys consisting of a Yr 3-4 and a Yr 5-6 team, participated in the Shubert’s 7’s non-competitive Rugby League Gala Day at Tuffins Lane. All boys showed brilliant sportsmanship and represented our school proudly. I would like to again thank Jayde and Justin for their help with coaching and training sessions for both the Netball and the Rugby League. Thank you!

Mrs Small Bio!

Hi all! I'm Mrs Sim Small, almost seems like Deja vu, but the Mrs to the Mr.

After many years travelling around the State and gaining some fantastic teaching experience, Sam and I finally reached our dream location, Beechwood, where we have bought two acres to build our forever home and become a part of the school and community.

You will see me each Tuesday and Friday, usually hidden away in the office, or in meetings with parents and teachers. My role is the Learning and Support Coordinator, making sure any student with additional learning needs gets the support they need.

I spend the rest of my week, running after our two very active boys, Archie (3) and George (1), who will also be joining Beechwood PS in a few years.

I am so grateful to be working at my favourite school, in my favourite town and am so passionate about giving all of your children the power of education!

Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children." – Alex Haley Thank you to all our grandparents for everything you do. Your love, support and advice are greatly appreciated. A big shout out to all who volunteered their time, baking skills, attended the assembly and supported our P&C at the annual Grandparents Day celebration.
