Our speaker this week is Stacey Higa, from Na Leo Hawaii TV. The Mission of Na Leo ‘O Hawaiʻi is to facilitate diverse community, education and government dialog and expression by providing television access for the people of the County of Hawaiʻi. At todays meeting, the Slate of Officers for Rotary Year 2017 - 2018 will be presented. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor. The vote for the new Board will take place in December. Next Wednesday, November 23rd, there will be NO MEETING. Instead, we will be assisting with the Thanksgiving “Meet N Eat” at Kealakehe Intermediate School. There are still some items that are needed to help feed the 300+ expected guests - please see Mike Fraser for details. The “almost” final report for PIG N SWIG is complete, and the great news is that the net income was about $3,000 higher than budgeted. Thanks KC Mahoney for chairing the event, and to Bev Fraser for the successful silent auction. December is going to be a very busy month for our club. The meeting on December 7th will be dark, as December 8th we will be celebrating the life of Cliff Kopp. December 10th is the annual Christmas Parade, and members will be encouraged to help. December 14th, our guest speaker will be Derek Chignell, who is going to update the club on the Kosovo project. DING DONG DINNER DITCH is scheduled for Friday December 23, after which we will be having our Christmas Social evening at the home of Ann Goody. More news on all of the events to follow. Congratulations to Cheri Lavoie on her quest to become Miss Hawai’i! Although she did not win the title, she was awarded the “Director’s Choice Award”. All of our club members are incredibly proud of her efforts! Thanks to all of the club members who contributed “Happy Dollars” to help offset her costs!
