Welcome and Prayer—Bill Craig A Mighty Fortress Is Our God (PH 469) A mighty fortress is our God A bulwark never failing Our helper He amid the flood Of mortal ills prevailing For still our ancient foe Doth seek to work us woe His craft and pow'r are great And armed with cruel hate On earth is not his equal Did we in our own strength confide Our striving would be losing Were not the right Man on our side The Man of God's own choosing You ask who that may be Christ Jesus it is He Lord Sabaoth His name From age to age the same And He must win the battle And tho' this world with devils filled Should threaten to undo us We will not fear for God hath willed His truth to triumph thru us The prince of darkness grim We tremble not for him His rage we can endure For lo his doom is sure One little word shall fell him That word above all earthly pow'rs No thanks to them abideth The Spirit and the gifts are ours Thru Him who with us sideth Let goods and kindred go This mortal life also The body they may kill God's truth abideth still His kingdom is forever CCLI Song # 42964, Frederick Henry Hedge | Martin Luther, © Words: Public Domain, Music: Public Domain. Call to Worship Leader: Let us worship God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ. All: We are new creations; the old has gone, the new has come! Let us worship God as Christ’s ambassadors. Through speaking truth and living grace may we announce the good news to all. Let us worship God in spirit and in truth. Praise God! We are reconciled, redeemed, renewed! Lord, Reign In Me Over all the earth You reign on high Every mountain stream every sunset sky But my one request Lord my only aim Is that You'd reign in me again Lord reign in me reign in Your pow'r Over all my dreams in my darkest hour You are the Lord of all I am So won't You reign in me again Over every thought over every word May my life reflect the beauty of my Lord 'Cause You mean more to me Than any earthly thing So won't You reign in me again Lord reign in me reign in Your pow'r Over all my dreams in my darkest hour You are the Lord of all I am So won't You reign in me again Lord reign in me reign in Your pow'r Over all my dreams in my darkest hour You are the Lord of all I am So won't You reign in me again CCLI Song # 2490706, Brenton Brown, © 1998 Vineyard Songs (UK/Eire) (Vineyard Music UK) For use solely with the SongSelect® Terms of Use. O God, Our Help in Ages Past (PH 170, vs. 1, 2, 3 6) O God our help in ages past Our hope for years to come Our shelter from the stormy blast And our eternal home Under the shadow of Your throne Your saints have dwelt secure Sufficient is Your arm alone And our defense is sure Before the hills in order stood Or earth received its frame From everlasting You art God To endless years the same Our God our help in ages past Our hope for years to come Still be our guard while troubles last And our eternal home! Statement of Faith We believe that God revealed himself as the one who wishes to bring about justice and true peace among people; that God, in a world full of injustice and enmity, is in a special way the God of the destitute, the poor and the wronged; that God calls the church to follow him in this, for God brings justice to the oppressed and gives bread to the hungry; that God frees the prisoner and restores sight to the blind; that God supports the downtrodden, protects the stranger, helps orphans and widows and blocks the path of the ungodly; that for God pure and undefiled religion is to visit the orphans and the widows in their suffering; that God wishes to teach the church to do what is good and to seek the right.

We believe that the church must therefore stand by people in any form of suffering and need, which implies, among other things, that the church must witness against and strive against any form of injustice, so that justice may roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

Since the Beginning of the World, (vs. 2,4) The gift of unity is shown as witness to the world abroad, by means of willing, joyful faith and service to the least of all. For justice God has been revealed, the church for justice God has sealed, to stand with those who have been wronged, to join the voiceless in their song. I Sing The Mighty Power of God I sing the mighty power of God That made the mountains rise That spread the flowing seas abroad And built the lofty skies I sing the wisdom that ordained The sun to rule the day The moon shines full at His command And all the stars obey I sing the goodness of the Lord That filled the earth with food He formed the creatures with His word And then pronounced them good Lord how Thy wonders are displayed Where'er I turn my eye If I survey the ground I tread Or gaze upon the sky There's not a plant or flower below But makes Thy glories known And clouds arise and tempests blow By order from Thy throne While all that borrows life from Thee Is ever in Thy care And everywhere that we can be Thou God art present there CCLI Song # 29097 Isaac Watts | Xavier Ludwig Hartig, © Words: Public Domain, Music: Public Domain, For use solely with the SongSelect® Terms of Use. Communion Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right for us to give thanks and praise. It is our joy and our peace, at all times and in all places to give thanks to you, holy Father, almighty, everlasting God, through Christ, our Lord. We bless you for your continual love and care for every creature… Therefore with the whole company of saints in heaven and on earth we worship and glorify you, God most holy, and we declare with joy: All: Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! All Your works shall praise Your Name in earth and sky and sea. Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty! God in three persons, blessed Trinity! A prayer of belief All-powerful God, I am sinful. Nothing I can do can save me. I turn away from my sin, and I flee to you. I need you. I need the life-giving death and resurrection of Jesus. Send me your Spirit so that I can be made new. Thank you for offering me forgiveness. Thank you for taking the punishment I deserved. Thank you for loving me more than I could possibly imagine. Amen. God’s Blessing
