OUR VISION

We, the Catholic Community of St. Frances of Rome, are dedicated to the propagation of the faith in our community and surrounding areas. We will accomplish this through an increase in communication to our parishioners and the surrounding communities by updating our weekly bulletin and redesigning our parish website. We will increase our spiritual life through the availability of workshops and retreats. We will build a new church in a timely manner, which will help to build a strong sense of community within the parish. With God’s grace guiding us, we hope to affect a positive change in the St Frances of Rome Community.

LIFE IS HARD, BUT HAVE NO FEAR

Today’s readings take a fearless look at reality and reach a conclusion that we all know: life is hard. The prophet Malachi preaches fire and brimstone, warning us that evildoers will perish in flames. Saint Paul offers his own warning to the Thessalonians: keep busy, but never become a busybody. He reminds Christians that the apostles themselves worked in “toil and drudgery” as a model for how we ought to contribute to our community. The Gospel returns to the apocalyptic tone of Malachi, describing the utter chaos of the end-times. We will know the end is near when violence, catastrophe, and hatred dominate the earth. But we must not fear! God’s saving plan brings peace to our hearts. Malachi speaks of the sun’s “healing rays,” and Jesus himself promises to protect every hair on our heads.

LA VIDA ES DURA, PERO NO TENEMOS MIEDO

Las lecturas de hoy toman una mirada valiente a la realidad y llegan a la conclusión que todos sabemos, la vida es dura. El profeta Malaquías predica fuego y azufre, advirtiéndonos que los malhechores perecerán en llamas. San Pablo ofrece su propia advertencia a los tesalonicenses: manténgase ocupado, pero nunca en entrometidos. Él recuerda a los cristianos que los mismos apóstoles hicieron “trabajos pesados y penosos” como un modelo de cómo debemos contribuir a nuestra comunidad. El Evangelio regresa al tono apocalíptico de Malaquías, describiendo el caos total del final de los tiempos. Pastor’s Corner . . .

On the Pilgrimage I want to take this opportunity to thank God for a successful pilgrimage to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City and its neighboring cities. We are able to add another $11,000 to our building fund because of this pilgrimage. I want to thank the pilgrims who travelled with me. They are a gem. They journeyed not as tourists but as pilgrims, and that made all the difference. I hope you can join us to Poland and the neighboring pilgrim sites in 2021. A pilgrimage teaches us that we are always on a journey towards our final home with God in paradise. We never settle. We keep rising and always on our way (Mk14:42).

On 2019 Pageant Committee & Candidates I cannot say enough good things about our parish volunteers. God inspires us, and our volunteers propel us forward. As is often said, actions speak more eloquently than

words. This they did. I thank our 2019 pageant committee members, countless others who worked behind the scenes, and most especially to our 2019 pageant candidates who have been selfless in their endeavor to support our new church project. You all inspire many. I sincerely want to thank all of you for a job well done.

On Trunk or Treat In the last three years we have been hosting here on parish grounds our Trunk or Treat. This is an effort to give a sound and much safer alternative for our families, kids, and youth during the Halloween celebration. I am very grateful to all of you who have participated this year. I want to thank all ministries and volunteers who participated that evening. Arise and Build Monthly Bulletin Announcement November 2019

As of October 31, 2019, the total amount in our Building Fund is $5,527,780.25

As you have heard, a lot is happening on the construc on front. Just last week Fr. James approved a $10,000 down payment on the steel frame for the building and roof. We are no longer just paying for plans and studies, we are actually ordering construc on materials! We also announced last month that the public hearing for our project has been scheduled for the evening of December 18 at the Wildomar City Council Chambers! In prepara on for that mee ng, our 30 day public comment/ review period commenced on October 22 and will close on November 20. This open comment period is when any interested par es can comment and ask ques ons about our proposed project. Then, on the 18th of December, the City of Wildomar will formally review the project and respond to any ques ons. If all goes well, our building permit should be approved shortly therea er. If you are interested in a ending the hearing on December 18, and we hope there will a sizable delega on from St. Frances of Rome in a endance, please sign up a er mass today at the informa on table in front of the church. Isn’t it incredible to think that the construc on phase is now within our sight? Keep the faith, keep the prayers, and keep the contribu ons coming! Speaking of contribu ons, as of October 31, 2019, the total amount in our Building Fund is $5,527,780.25. That is an increase of $89,070.21 over our month end total in September! We are so close to our goal! To end the year strong, last week, Fr. James distributed his year-end building fund appeal. Whether to complete your pledge, to go above and beyond your annual pledge, and/or to make a contribu on for the first me, please prayerfully consider a year end contribu on. Let’s get as close to 6 million in the bank as we can by the end of the year. Wouldn’t that be awesome? Our permit approved and almost $6 million in our building fund to start 2020! Of course all building fund dona ons are tax deduc ble to the extent allowed by law. Thank you for your faith and determina on as we work together to build our new church.

Almighty Father,

We are grateful to you for our existing worship center. We are also grateful and indebted to all the generous people over the years, especially the generation that founded this community some 130 years ago. We are grateful to have the opportunity to continue your work by building our future church for our children and this growing community.

Lord, teach us true generosity that we will be the first to give, for all we have is yours. Help us to give wholeheartedly. Touch our hearts to not be afraid to give, for you take care of our needs and bless us with infinite rewards on earth and in Heaven.

Through the intercession of St. Joseph, the carpenter, and St. Frances of Rome, our patron saint, help us to achieve our dream to build our future church, a space set apart from the mundane, solely dedicated to meet the divine, so that we are drawn to a more contemplative and deeper experience of you.

Dios Padre Todopoderoso,

Te damos gracias por nuestra actual parroquia; así como agradecemos a la generosidad de todas las personas, especialmen-te a la generación que fundó esta comunidad hace más de 130 años y con las cuales nos sentimos en deuda. Estamos muy agradecidos de tener la oportunidad de continuar tu trabajo por medio de la construcción de nuestra futura Iglesia para los niños y la comunidad creciente.

Señor, enséñanos la verdadera generosidad para ser los primeros en dar, pues todo lo que tenemos es tuyo. Ayúdanos a dar con alegría de corazón. Toca nuestros corazones para no temer dar, y, así, tu cuides de nuestras necesidades y nos bendigas con tus infinitas bondades aquí en la tierra y en el cielo.

Que, a través de la intercesión de San José, el carpintero y nuestra patrona Santa Francisca de Roma, nos ayudes a cumplir nuestro sueño de edificar nuestra futura Iglesia, un espacio apartado de lo mundano dedicado únicamente a conocer tu divini-dad, de tal manera que lleguemos a una profunda y contemplativa experiencia de tu presencia.

Todo esto te lo pedimos en el nombre de Cristo Jesús, nuestro Señor. Amen.
